Afrihost Business Uncapped Feedback

I can see how from an individual perspective this seems frustrating, but you might also want to look at it from an overall network perspective. You may not want to hear or believe the data, but there is definitely a correlation between the demand and the release of the last Apple update. Also, the decrease in demand in the days following the release certainly proves that this was the case.

I know we make our share of mistakes, but I think many clients feel we're a good service provider and I feel we always do the best for our clients with the resources we have.

You may want to take up the "limiting" issue with Telkom at the moment. I noticed that on another site in Milnerton, the speed is being limited to 4MB.... this is with 3 different ISP accounts. My account is also experiencing the same on AH - could be the area, although links from Cape Town to JHB are also suffering. I asked for a port reset from Telkom, but no change.

Maybe Telkom is applying their FUP across all LINES and not just those with their ISP accounts?
Can't see how VOX/AH/TELKOM/MWEB accounts all perform equally poor from my other location. The stats on both lines are good, but there is an increase in latency across the board.

I am not interested in what is happening on the network, what other users experience. I pay for a 8MB business account that currently operates at 2MB. I should therefore be charged for a 2MB account until you have sorted out your network problems.

I think what is happening on the network is definitely pertinent. I think it answers the direct questions we receive here on the forums. As I said, you may not like the answers but they are definitely the truth and what is actually behind what you could be experiencing. But in all cases we must troubleshoot to ensure we don't miss something important.

WOW, that's slow..... :(

...and getting worse :wtf:

I agree, not great :(
The usage patterns look similar to yesterday for the South IPC, easing off a bit. I'm sure it'll start normalising soon.

I am shocked! Back to normal speeds, but the usual Youtube buffering at 480p or higher settings still remains.....

And now stuck with utter uselessness once again:

Cancellation pending.....

I fail to see why we still have to pay full price for this "premium" product when I can't even send emails to clients.
This post took me about 10 minutes to do.

Thanks for the last 8 days of **** service, Afrihost.

Would be interesting to know, how many people have left AH in the last 6 weeks...

I cancelled quietly on Monday night.
Cant take it anymore. Seems like a yearly thing to change ISP's
Second time I'm leaving Afrihost, 1st time was the big issues in 2012. moved to OpenWeb then for a year.
Moved back to Afrihost last year November, and now looking for for a new ISP.
Will probably come back to AH next year lol, when they get their act together.

Really sorry to see you go :(

I'm sure I'll be back Afriguy :)
you guys work hard on the front line and up until now all has been good.
Will monitor the feedback here and will be part of the roost. looking at your capped products at the moment but they seem to suffer even worse than business uncapped at the moment. :(

Fully understand dude :)
PM me if you have any questions.

I hope the South IPC gets fixed soon. Ping for Diablo has been terrible. In region of 1000ms+ for most of the week. It only seems to get better after 9PM.

1000ms seems far too high :(
Do you have any results that I can look at? I'd like to see where the latency is being introduced.

The latency isn't too bad on the local hops and our network, although not great. Since when have you noticed the degraded latency?

Afriguy, I still can't connect to Safex. I have logged a call. When will this be fixed pleeze. I can't trade. I'm bleeding money here!
Safex IP according to trading software: SXFIN 41.208.46.100

Keeps saying - TAsk Timeout loading data for Safex

Seems to be working for me LottaFun you sure it isn't your software that's not working?
