Been great in the East today. Ping's fine. Guess the Durban IPC wasn't receiving too much flack today.

Look into my eyes, look into my eyes, the eyes, the eyes, not around the eyes, don't look around my eyes, look into my eyes, you're under....

Your speeds have returned to normal.

Three, two, one. You're back...

Ah, pure internet joy.

Seems that all of a sudden my line has gone on holiday :(

Well I don't know about you guys, but my line is running amazingly today. I've been streaming twitch for more than an hour now (on high quality) and not even one buffer

Please please please can it stay like this

6MB line running at 5.2MB and Youtube vids buffer to hell on 480p.
Been like this for two months now and all we get is excuses and "do this test and traceroute" blah blah blah and f-all gets done about it.

Its the weekend, though. Not a time when you can infer anything about a capacity-starved network.

O this is rich:

My ADSL line is completely dead.
Report it to support (on my current fault log)
Support replies that my log is still open and I should wait till Tuesday to see if my line starts to work.

WTF kind of reply is that for a business account. Stuck without ADSL since this morning and no assistance to get me back online.
Posting this from my iPad using Telkom mobile :( Thinking Crystalweb sounds better and better the longer I'm with Afrihost.

Seems to be working for me LottaFun you sure it isn't your software that's not working?

8-Ball, the ping works from my computer also, but the data can't come through. I have disconnected my ADSL and loaded my MTN 3G sticky thing. It works perfect via that. This seems to be a protocol issue. Ping is super low level if you look at where it sist's in the protocol stack. Afrihost is blocking a specific protocol or the relevant port. I am not sure which one as I do not know at what protocol level my software receives data.

Live streaming is very patchy today, which is disappointing considering its Sunday. On the bright side, only 2 more days of this rubbish left.

Everything my side went to crap at 15:00 today. Torrents in the toilet at 15% and all the rest at 20%. Tell me AH, is the demand so high on a Sunday??? You guys need to get more IPC, especially in Cape Town... you have known about this for 5 months, and it's now affecting your highest paying clients.

Another day, another let down.... this is what SA is at the moment - people have no honour, and don't deliver even close on what they promise. Society nowadays needs to grow a set, and have a little bit of integrity...

...Just saying

Yup. Dropped to about a quarter of line speed suddenly mid afternoon in the cape. Was great while it lasted. Honestly doesn't feel like it's a "capacity issue". Why would everyone suddenly start downloading in the middle of a Sunday afternoon?

So, am I going to be charged the full price or will my bill be less than half of what it usually is seeing as I have had nothing but less than half the service from AH this month?

And on the top the page Afrihost is advertising "Double you cap" VDSL-ready bandwidth for under R2/GB.

Until you have provisioned sufficient capacity.... Just Stop It!

Afriguy, I still can't connect to Safex. I have logged a call. When will this be fixed pleeze. I can't trade. I'm bleeding money here!
Safex IP according to trading software: SXFIN 41.208.46.100

Keeps saying - TAsk Timeout loading data for Safex

MTN will definitely want a traceroute to the IP to show that it does not connect and via which 3rd party networks we route (if any).

Can you please run that and send to me via PM?
