Afrihost Business Uncapped Feedback

@Mike Smit, you wont be sorry, i have had no issues on 10mb business.

Business Uncapped is constructed exactly like a Capped Account (like a Free GB) account. We don't impose any additional structure, except for the speed rate limit according to the product which you purchase (i.e. 4Mbps, 10Mbps, etc). So it would actually be a fairly accurate comparison if you're account speed matches your line speed.

Awesome. Only issue I have here is no 6mbps option available. I don't want to sign up for a 4mbps as I rob myself of 2mbps but also don't want a 10mbps as I am paying for 4mbps that won't get used.
Telkom have said they have no plans for the near future to upgrade my exchange, so cannot really bank on a future upgrade.

Can't you guys release a 6mbps business uncapped? Puhleeeez?

6Mbps is available, click on the arrow next to 4Mbps and select 6Mbps.

I just need to know that SQL Server connections to remote servers won't time out, remote desktop connections are usable, web browsing is zippy and my email (Google Apps) comes in same time as my phone and not 15 to 30 minutes later.

After hours the family uses Netflix and Hulu+ as we no longer have DSTV. So I can clock up quite a bit of usage in a month and would like someone to verify that I will not be throttled for any reason. And do these 2 services stream without issue on Afrihost Business Uncapped?

In the same boat as you (same ISP). Google slow, RDP dead slow, and it sucks for work, and support is ignoring me, so it's time to jump ship.
Think I'll try the normal one and then try the Business uncapped if the normal one doesn't cut it.

@Afriman
Are you guys (Afrihost) and Axxess not affiliated in any way?...or do you just use the same back-bone...

I have been having trouble on my 10mb uncapped account.

Just the random slowdowns, and glitches.

If I use a different account (TI) - no problems.

Can you confirm if there is a problem, or is it time to jump ship again.

I've been having similar problem as well, started last week Friday. Just randomly the browsing speed and downloading slows down to snail pace, can't even browse at all, the speed returns after a few minutes but it happens throughout the day. Only at night and during the weekend do I have no issues. I've been contacted by a tech but so far haven't been able to solve the problem. It happened all day today as well (what's weird though is that even through browsing and downloads speed drops to nothing - the football game I was streaming still continued without any issues).

We have a 6Mbps Business Product. Just click on the little arrow next to 4Mbps and it will drop down the other available products in that range :)

We own Axxess, but they run independently of us, and have their own pricing and product structures. But in general, we have the same approach to how things are done - clients first!! ;)

Cool, let me know if you have any issues :)

Anyone experiencing latency in the Helderberg, Cape Town area? I have logged a fault last week with telkom, still no response.

I have a 2Mbps Afrihost Business Uncapped line but for the past 5 days I've been experiencing latency issues and past 6pm it's un-useable. I use Visual Route to check rtt etc. In general this route is reasonably quick, with hops responding on average within 110ms. However, all hops after hop 7 in network 'Core Links' respond slightly slower than average.

From hop7, you're going overseas, which is why they're higher. Hop6 could be in the UK but it says PE, so I'm unsure, but seeing hop7, I'd guess 6 is already abroad.

No general issues on our side, is your line with us?
PM me your details so I can check out your account.

Been having YouTube issues recently... very poor speeds even at low quality.

Anyone else? 6MB business uncapped.

Also, browsing seems to be slow intermittently.

I see that Axxess is now providing static IP addresses for ADSL accounts. I would then think that the Afrihost Business ADSL should soon be implementing static IPs (has been saying "coming soon!" for months) as Axxess is part of Afrihost?

Hey bud,

I am having high latency issues on local games with a different ISP, I am also based in Strand. However on my 1gb afrihost account there are no latency issues at all.

We didn't have any general network issues, but I saw a few people mention sluggish international. What's it like this morning?

Axxess got it first, but we'll have it very soon (sooner than you think) ;)
