Them darned routers! Varmints ;)

Yeah! This one is getting on my nerves, actually. Wifi needs a reboot every other day already. Might be investing in something that isn't on special next time..

Then again, it did transmit over 800gb for me last month, which is nice. Going to take it much easier this month, I have all my Steam games downloaded now. :)

Clearly your router is overworked :)

Hey

Is there anything a person can do to get Telkom to actually fully FIX an ADSL line?
It seems that almost every single time there is a few hours of even a light drizzle the line disconnects and it's hours and even days before I can connect again :-(
I'm thinking it's until everything gets dry again and then it's suddenly able to just reconnect...

This is just getting pathetic...
The telkom guy told me one of the previous times he came out that he can se line looks very bad at quite a few places :-(

Then they just say the line can't sync because it's trying to sync at 4mbps which is too fast...
I even showed him pictures of how I've been able to sync at 7mbps in the past with even better SNR than I have now...
To which he just replies "it's unable to sync at 4mbps at the moment"... No sh*t?!

We started working more from home so the internet has become more crucial than ever before :-(

Order a new line then cancel the old one :D

Log a call saying your line has a dry joint. They'll know what to fix.

It depends on the Telkom guy. Some are really dedicated and go out of their way to resolve these issues permanently. Others ... not so much :(

High latency tonight??

Ping to Rosebank is 176ms. Making online play a pain in the butt.
Other peeps on AH accounts jamming Ghosts on XBox Live also complaining about terrible lag.

What's up guys?

how much difference is there between shaping/prioritization/throttling/whatever the kids are calling it today between the AH capped accounts and AH Business Uncapped ? I am struggling with single threaded http downloads here, which I dont have any control over, getting 47KB/s on my 4mb Uncapped, but I am getting about 600KB/s on a Capped AH account, on a line which is currently syncing at 8Mbps...

yes, protocol prioritization is off in the clientzone :)

I get over 600KB/s on my 6Mbps Afrihost Business connection syncing at 7Mbps.

Are you on standard uncapped or business uncapped?

What's up guys?

We were busy working on the network last night, guess that caused some delays in traffic requests, but we're all good now :)

Sorry to hear that you're battling. Could you post or PM a traceroute so we can check this out?

Sorry, only saw this this morning. Will check when I get home from work later today if there's still a problem and get back to you.

We had some latency issues last night while we did some work on the network. Should be all normal again :)
