Afrihost Business Uncapped Feedback

Which ISP's have your been testing?

WA is a no go because their support sucks..... oh wait its similar to Afrihosts.

I am using WebAfrica capped 15GB things at the moment, and then also signed up for Incredible Connections R99 uncapped special thing.

I had no faith initially in the Incredible Connection package, hence the WebAfrica capped account, but for R99 it has really proved itself thus far.
I am definitely keeping this R99 package.

The WebAfrica has also been issue free... I have not had to engage with support and such... and everything also works just fine.

If by the 23rd of this month this AH account has not redeemed itself, I will use the Connection R99 and WebAfrica top-ups for a while.

EDIT: Here, quick Incredible Connection speedtest;

I know you and I have been able to see eye to eye. However the point people are trying to get across is that you have someone paying for Uncapped unshaped Business ADSL at the advertised speed. The amount of data moved is completely irrelevant. As you can move e.g. 100gb on a 1mb line or a 10mb line depending on the level of service. The fact is people aren't getting the speeds that they are paying for. And no amount of core values, and client trust will make a client happy about paying 10mb price for a 2mb line.

I like Afrihost so for me to wait 1 to 2 months for the IPC is no biggy. That's the trust you talk about. However, this thing has been coming for 6 months so you can't expect people to be happy, or convince them to feel otherwise.

As there is nothing you can do about the IPC and Telkom taking their time, why don't you share what measures Afrihost has put in place to prevent this. I am not trying to troll here. Rather i'd love to hear the technical side of things. :)

But that's not the case, because you can move data. If you've moved less than a GB in 7 days, I would say maybe yes. How much data have you moved this month? Out of interest.

+1 and if this was a home uncapped account, I would not bitch and moan so much :)

I respect where you are coming from, and my only purpose is to engage with clients here and hear what they have to say. If there is actionable content, then I can make sure we do what we can to act on it. However, I don't think anything productive can come from bashing and venting exclusively, it dilutes the efficacy of the forum to effect real change.

I do understand that there are people here who are upset, and I'm here to listen and reassure them that whatever can be done, is being done. But I do also need to bring the conversation out of the realm of rhetoric and sensational claims into the reality of what we're all facing together. If we can all accept each other's point of view, and agree that we all want the same things, this changes from being a fight to a collaboration to work together to make everyone's experience better. When we get straight feedback and actionable requests, I think we've shown that we're willing to come to the party more than once :)

Oh I can see this is going to turn out to every single excuse in the book *NOT* to refund... Fun & games! As a end-user, I can assure you - it's not about HOW MUCH data we moved, but the QUALITY of the data moved.

@Afriman I quote what I said to you in a pm

"And the fact that you don't have a notification on your website about the South IPC issues actually tells me that you are trying to fool people into signing sign up because they will not know of any issues. Afrihost is being deceitful, by not making it known that there are issues."

You are here to reassure us that everything is being done that can be done, but yet all you say is we have to wait it out.

And to fix this, buy capacity from IS give all your Business clients a new username and password on the IS network for the time being.

Sorry to hear that. I'm sure it won't be more than a few days now for issues in the South to be resolved.

You should be able to reinstate your account easily in ClientZone.

Like I said I will be back once it is sorted. The day everyone says it is all up an running again I will log in and reactivate immediately!

You're just not getting it. If I wanted to just move some data I could choose a myriad other, much cheaper products. If I wanted to watch live HD streams I would choose an unshaped product like this. At present even SD streams are a fruitless struggle at the best of times. And yet, up to last month, your product worked flawlessly. Why should we lower our expectations while we continue to pay the same price?

AfriMan: you are either not understanding this at all or your company simply does not give a fsck.

Let me make it as clear as I possibly can. Even a retard will understand this (no offense to any retards here):

Afrihost owes it's business clients compensation for the crap service we have received. Whether it's in the form of a full refund or discount. That's all we want.

We don't want to pay full price for a service that is unusable.

We don't care about afrihosts point of view. We don't care about how much money afrihost has invested in it's network. We don't care about anything other than getting what we PAID for.

We are the clients, we are the ones that pay.

Now go back to management and inform them that their business clients want compensation.

Don't call me a retard, I took offence :)

I am just as affected as the rest of you. However attacking Afriman is ridiculous.

Good grief it's not the persons fault. Afriman like us all is a human being and deserves to be treated as such.

Why don't you all call Afrihost, mail them etc to get management's attention but personally attacking the rep is shameful.

Ps I am just as frustrated and angered like us all

Play the ball not the man

No one is attacking him. Everyone is simply telling him that we want to be compensated for this mess.

He chooses not to listen and get management involved.

Why do I need to go even more out of pocket to call their call centre? He is the messenger and yes I feel sorry for him but hell dude, I need to work and currently I can't

Only a retard would respond to that with "don't call me a retard" :D

I had too :P

Bear this in mind I am not standing up for Afrihost but for Afriman. My own feelings about what I think of Afrihost at the moment are well known

I don't know how inferring that I'm a retard is not becoming personal. Like I said, there's a lot to be said about how you choose to approach an issue.

The decision is yours to make - you have all the information.

So you are saying deal with it or fsck off?
