Afrihost Business Uncapped Feedback

I've had a ticket open with them since the 1st of this month in regards to the fact that the 1GB free capped account can stream Twitch at high or source smoothly, while the 4Mbps business account can hardly even manage medium and sometimes low for the same stream at the same time.

After many tests they have now started asking MTN about it as they cant deny it with the amount of proof I've provided.
But this has meant that i have to call/message them daily otherwise they don't update me or forget about it (as some of the staff have done).

If anything comes of it I'll update on this thread, as everything else runs at line speed 24/7 on the business account.

I agree also.. Twitch working on 1GB free account, but business account buffers extremely..

We've logged multiple ticket with Twitch directly. I've personally tested Twitch on Capped and Uncapped. I can't say I've found any differences between the two. I'm happy to continue testing if you have specific threads you're having issues with.

We'll need to get more specific feedback on exactly what you're experiencing so that we can recreate this exactly. What services are you using, what settings do you have on your account (like Business Optimisation) and what DNS settings are you using. The more info you can give me, the better I can recreate the conditions that you are experiencing.

I can definitely say that Twitch performance is better on WebAfrica Home Capped than Afrihost capped!

Here in the Cape Southern Suburbs, I am still issue free on my 4Mbs AH Business account.

I have none of the streaming issues mentioned here... all streams are buffer free;
and [gasp] Twitch also streams on High as well without buffering, even during office hours.

My DNS is router set to auto, so using whatever Afrihost is telling it to use and I am connected to the Wynberg exchange.

Good to hear. I think there are so many links in the DSL chain, it's always necessary to troubleshoot and eliminate each possibility before we draw conclusions. Thanks for this feedback :)
 
Everything is bad my side

Line stats are pretty much good
WA Test account is pretty much good

Afrihost Business 2 meg account is maxxing out at 60kb/s and youtube downgrading quality to 144p, like this for the last few days

There is no need for your intervention at this moment in time as we're just waiting for MTN to get back to us.
If you want to look at the ticket you can, but as i said its not necessary at this moment.

Well trying to watch anything on Supersport or DSTV On demand does not work, there is continual streaming. I do not have the Business Optimisation switched on, and the times I am trying to watch anything no else is even browsing. Although on a *MB line you would think this should not be a problem. I have reported this issue for months now. I have tried different dns servers, but we currently use OpenDNS. I use the same server with other ISP accounts and Streaming is perfect. You tube videos are never a problem.

TwitchTV, just never works, I will log on, and the site just shows loading video, and it just sits.

I have a NetGear DGND4000, with the latest firmware, never had these issues before joining Afrihost. I dont believe its an issue from my side, otherwise every account would have the same issue. I sent my tracert results to support, and it was never resolved. I also do not have time to continually test my line, I pay for a service, and expect to get that service.

That's pretty weird. And you're using Dynamic DNS?

I will post a screenshot later (posting from my phone now), but I have downloaded almost 15GB so far today from midnight until 8:20am.
Nothing.wrong with line speed or torrent downloads.
