Too little too late.
Hosting centre down A-^%$#@-GAIN. Which means lost emails between client and business, which makes business look like an arsehole.

Thanks for nothing AH. That's it, I am pulling hosting as well. I am LIVID.

Ive been upset as a private user with AH. Ive lived with the sh:t experience on DSL at the office on the capped account.
And now our Hosted environment is also down.

AH sorry to say the overall experience in your BRAND has degraded, sadly my impression does not only affect DSL Usage, but also a business decision.

at the end of the day , if you sort out your DSL cool you may have me back, but hosted services is gone forever.
what a balls up.

So AfriPeeps. How long will the data centre be down for this time?

What happens to the lost email?

How will the affected clients be compensated?

(And yes, I really DO expect detailed answers)

It seriously upsets me to see the thread degrade as it has.
All this is pretty onerous to be honest.

AfriPeeps, you all need to accept that the frustration and anger directed at AH is self inflicted by the lack of transparency / clear communication on the matter.... and let's not start with the Status board, which is still Green.
We understand that you guys can't communicate anything until it's confirmed by the higher-ups however rather than getting frustrated or bringing up bannings in posts, rather focus that energy on getting the answers from the higher-ups and sharing those with us. I have raised the transparency issue with AH management. Let's hope they take heed.

I received the following feedback from AH Critical Care management yesterday.
I would rather it have come from the AH reps directly but the tone on the thread suggests it should be posted

From AH Critical Care management Thu 18/06/2015 11:03

I think we all got a bit off track earlier this morning, and frustration on both sides caused us all to lose focus of what we're here for.

From our side, I don't think it is unreasonable to expect some level of resentment and disappointment, our ADSL network hasn't been great and until this point we've not been able to provide an ETA or even go into too much detail on the matter. I know it looks like we've been trying to hide these issues from the public, but this is most certainly not the case. There are a number of factors that play into why we've not been able to share this information and make it public.

The planned Network Upgrades that the Critical Care is referring to do not include IPC capacity, but will most certainly address the issues with latency and drops in throughput and will definitely get each User the performance that they need. In the coming days and weeks we'll be able to go into more detail, and the moment we are able talk about these upgrades you guys will be the first to find out what has been planned.

At the moment just the storage capacity of some of the virtual environments is not accessible, no information has been lost, and no mails will go missing or be lost. Our Server Admin Team is already working on restoring full functionality, and you will not need to wait long before your hosting is back up.

Our Gallo Manor DC has definitely not been as stable as it could be, and we're taking a long hard look at the issues that keep popping up with MTN and our hardware vendors. I know it is too little too late for many of our Hosting Clients, but there will be significant improvements in the Virtual Environments.

For those so inclined, the storage for the affected Virtual Environment is back-up and we're cycling the VMs now to restore full service.

OK, so I realise the thread title is capped adsl.. but if theres a hosting issue that we are having trouble with we can come to you? PM or whatever?

I can confirm hosted environment is back up. client access is performing as it should.
Thanks to the back end sorting it out so quickly.

That's good to hear! My apologies for it going down in the first place.

Only reason I posted here was because of my overall experience with AH.
Before I even posted here I did contact client support.

So Personally I don't expect the Afriguys to even respond, I'm just venting my frustration cause I'm unhappy.
Id suggest always call Support first if its a hosted issue.

There isn't a dedicated Hosting Thread at the moment, so you guys are more than welcome to PM us if you have any questions, queries or issues you want to raise. We're more than able to help with any Hosting queries as well. :)
