The same one I have been using for years, Astraweb.

On AH I get 4 KB/s.
On WA I get 558 KB/s.

Are you experiencing any other dips in speed or performance?

Well everything else is working fine. Web browsing, Youtube, email, etc. Only Netflix and Hulu is refusing to load. Exact same thing happened yesterday. But it evenutally came right with no action from myself.

Very strange, I wonder if this isn't being caused by some sort of DNS conflict. Please let me know if it doesn't come right in the next hour or so.

Run out of my free WA 1 GB. Switch to AH, still dead. Switch to my FNB 3 GB and full speed again.

Any ETA on this being sorted? In the south btw.

Just tested Usenet in the South, seems to be working all good there. Nothing coming up in the network monitoring either.
Have you tried switching around ports or using turn on/ off SSL?
 
Streaming this morning on Twitch, unwatchable!! And since it is the weekend, there is no one that can do anything about it!

Afrihost in the south - 170ms pings to your own website does not an acceptable network make.

Switching to my paid WA account (because I have no choice), and pings at the IPC drop from 150-200ms down to 23ms - how it should be. Back to Afrihost, and back up to ludicrous numbers. Google services pretty much dead. General surfing crawling, if working at all.

From comments in this thread, it sounds like things should be improving. Looks to me like it is getting worse. Here's a summary of the last 10 days on Afrihost so that you can see what we have to live with on an evening to evening basis in Cape Town. (Not that you don't know.)

Cant connect to anything on afrihost as usual TS Steam LoL all ****ed switch to WA works fine

Afrihost capped accounts throttled again. Torrents crawl... video bufferfest.

Switch ISP... instant full speed and no problems.

Switch back to Afrihost accounts... throttled borked managed contained contented.

FFS
 
Change ISP their network support team is incompetent based on the support I got.
 
@AfriPeople - poor performance down in CPT. Please advise.

Update 18h12: Okay seems to be a line issue. Tested on CrystalWeb and FNBConnect.
Submitted a support ticket, however haven't had response.
Would be great if someone could do a port recreate [yes - line is with AH].

Update: 18h34: Spoke too soon. There's an issue with AH. CrystalWeb is actually fine.
