Getting "Authentication Failure" this morning. Restarting router doesn't help. Was still working last night. In Cape Town.

Is there a known issue?

Same here Cape Town as well, reset router 5 times already. Aaaaaaargh!!!

Couldn't even watch YouTube at 240p last night after 9 buffer every bloody 15 seconds!0

That's pretty weird, we're generally seeing good throughput. We do sometimes see some strange anomalies during and immediately after authentication problems where some accounts are misclassified. I would suggest resetting your account once the authentication problem is resolved and then re-testing to ensure this is not the case, and then troubleshooting further if we haven't sorted this out.

I'm sorry to hear that. I see that you were in PM contact with AfriGuy. Will chat to him to make sure we're helping you :(

Yeah, my line is still running at half speed, if that. I've been told it's been escalated to Telkom. Really not happy at this point.

EDIT: Just a note, since we're in the Capped thread that talk of shaped and unshaped services only applies to Uncapped. Capped accounts are never shaped in anyway, ever.

Since your international backhaul and transit is provably sub-par compared to your competition, people might get the impression they're shaped when in actual fact packet loss and other issues are causing servers to throttle back what they're sending leading to buffering and the like.

We're seeing more successful authentications coming through, looks to be coming back up to normal :)

Hope so... soon.

International still borked tho'.

Only been with AH for about 2 - 3 months after suffering through Openweb BS for 18 months. Already I have had several breaks in my internet connection. I had another one this morning and when I phoned AH to find out how long the problem was likely to last, the person with whom I was unfortunate enough to speak, was really sarcastic, abrupt and unpleasant.
I realize that AH was probably inundated with calls this morning but that type of treatment is still uncalled for and if this is the norm I can look forward to when contacting AH telephonically, I will definitely be looking for another ISP sooner rather than later.

I've been a customer for years and they treated me like **** yesterday. I'm still having problems today and still getting no joy from them. I get it, it's Telkom's fault. Think I should maybe give my money to Telkom then. Might get better service too.
