Afrihost capped ADSL problems

Hi RPM, I have the exact same issue. During the first two weeks I had good download speeds averaging 8mbps. After I hit 50gb my line speed miraculously dropped to 4mb then averaged download speeds of 2-3mb, despite me paying for the 10mb 100gb bundle and despite me NEVER having this issue with my previous ISP during my two year stay with them. I also had the same problem as Leepage, escalated to Afrihost support no joy. I also have an issue where my router goes idle and needs to be rebooted on a daily basis. To make matters worse my line was down for two days this week despite the router showing that the line was up and despite several reboots. Does the same thing with three different routers so the routers are definitely not the problem.

Have you tested your line with other accounts and found that the issue goes away. As per your post on another thread, please PM me and we'll take a closer look, as this is definitely the general experience on our network.
 
Today Telkom came and put a new line, I don't know why tho because on other ISPs I don't have the problem. Afriman i still have the problem despite the new temporary line they put. I then told support at afrihost, then they asked me from trace routes on other ISP, which I already sent numerous times already. So frustrating!
 
Afrihost there is a problem with you! I just been to my friend who has just upgraded to my package and has the same problem!
 
Just in case this info helps. I am with Afrihost. I had lagg last weekend, none during the week. It is starting a little bit again this weekend. I am gaming and some of my friends I game with in New Zealand and Australia are also having lag, playing on any UK servers. I have checked world Internet traffic map and both last weekend and this weekend there seems to be a major backlog between Amsterdam and the UK on Internet traffic in general. So if any of you are gaming and are having lag if you have an option of a Danish server, try that or another European server in that direction. I don't think that this is majorly an Afrihost problem. I think there is something going on with routes between Europe and the UK, which will also effect live streaming for anything that routes that way.
 
Hi there. The problem is when I use another ISP, there is no problem. So can't be that.

The other isp may route a different way. If you can do a trace route on both isp's you will be able to see where they route through.

Can u believe i have been working with afrihost since the 29 April, and still im stuck! This is terrible.
 
Afriman has reassured me that they are working in it with top support members.
 
Leepage i have the same problem, ive been working with them since may and my issues still arent resolved. Pray that Afriman can help me. Even torrents are an issue at the moment. This is the last month that I will be trying to get this resolved.

yeh - having exactly the same issue. got kicked over to my 2nd 50gb bundle last night, and miraculously my line speeds have halfed.

this is utter BS.

Sorry to hear that you are also having issues. These are not general issues, and our team will need to troubleshoot each and every instance to find out what the unique (or common) factors are that are affecting your ADSL performance.

Could you (or anyone else having issues) please PM me with your username and contact details? We'll get one of our DSL experts to run some diagnostics with you.
 
Afriman afrihosts service has become appalling I have to say. Despite my numerous pms to yourself and assurances from a team leader that my line problems will be resolved and that he will personally call me back not A SINGLE person has come back to me. Every second day my line is down and then back up! This service is unusable and I am convinced that the problem is on your end and not Telkoms. It's a sad day for me to see the mess that Afrihost has become. Do you guys have no care as to how your customers are getting by on this shoddy service? Please sort it out now! I've been struggling for somebody to take my issues seriously since may!!!!

Part of me moving to you guys was due to your advertised promises to handle all Telkom related escalations. I have never had to deal with Telkom in two years. I've only had issues since I've moved to Afrihost and now that I have you aren't living up to your advertised and marketing claims. This is nonsense and beyond frustrating and infuriating!! I'm no longer going to beg!

I'm sorry you feel this frustrated. It's truly regrettable that this is going on this long. Our guys are looking into this, and have been in touch now, so I'm hopeful that this will all be sorted out soon :)
 
Still battling away here. I see large numbers CRC errors. Apparently it can be because over overloaded Telkom exchange.

Hi Afrihost. I am done with you guys if this is not sorted before the end of the month along with two of my friends. I changed to temporary ISP and no issue at all with Internet. No problems loading pages, no problem downloading apple apps, no sever not found. I enjoy u guys but if u can't see a problem then there is not hope for me with you.

We're sorry that we are still not able to resolve this issue for you. We are doing our very best to find the root of the issue, as we are definitely not receiving general complaints of this nature. We will keep pursuing this until we have some answers from Telkom, but we also understand if you've made up your mind.
