I am considering going with a capped package from Afrihost. Is it 100% completely unshaped and not throttled in any way?

Have you e-mailed Afrihost Sales? Apparently it will run your full line speed during the day (when most people are concerned) but i think it is shaped in some way. Probably "faster" than having uncapped, cause uncapped gets shaped to hell during the day. If it's for gaming, then you should be 100's.

I have spoken to them, and the sales person mentioned it was completely unshaped and not throttled. But getting people response is generally more accurate.

I was on capped. No problems. Changed to uncapped. Now I'm shaped so badly the internet has become unusable at home.

I have both an afrihost and an axxess capped account and they both give me the same consistent performance. highly recommended.

Afrihost's capped / uncapped offerings are heavily shaped and throttled: False Advertising!

Running a 100GB capped account with afrihost. Consistently get 8.5Mbps (according to speedtest.net)

Got this one the other day :)

Meaningless & inaccurate test. What speedtest.net tells you, is that you are connected to the Internet - which you already know.

See video below and test your connection with: http://www.measurementlab.net/measurement-lab-tools

It's the reason I gave up on uncapped. Throttled so badly I gave up and went back to capped. Much happier being capped.

Unfortunately IS does not sell "unshaped / unthrottled" (call it what you would like) bandwidth, not to Afrihost (capped or uncapped packages) or any other entity.

If you find a supplier that does, I would be very interested.

Yeah the capped offerings run really well, until you run out of cap that is :)

I find I get 100% line speed most all of the time. Networx logs confirm same.
