Afrihost Fibre Feedback

Getting 7mb/s on a 100mb fibre line with Afrihost uncapped. This is while trying to stream video from an international server.

That is horrible! :( It has been a few days since you posted this. Are you still having an issue?
 
I signed up for the free router and installation promo FTTH. I live in an apartment complex so how will this installation take place?

Um... You should have probably checked with your body corporate. Has Fibre been brought into the complex to a designated place? Fibre would then be pulled from there to your apartment. GL

I consistently get only 1.3mbps on a 10mpbs fibre line (speedtest.net to international servers, testing over a few months). Was hoping that upgrading to 20mbps (something Afrihost are basically incapable of getting right) would improve things to the point where I could actually stream without pauses, but based on what you say, it sounds unlikely :cry:

In most cases there will be junction box in your complex that the Fibre will be run to. :) The Team that handles the installations will contact you to arrange an installation date and time with you.

That doesn't sound right at all! :( Are you consistently getting those speeds?

Sure. So consistently that you must be very carefully rate limiting us to these speeds. I've told you before, in this thread, at length, with screenshots. I guess when you can't resolve issues within a few months, you start forgetting what the issues were.

Let's see - here's another quick test (although I shudder to use the word "quick" in an Afrihost context):

... at a zippy 1.3mpbs as usual. And yes, I get much faster speeds if I test to local servers.

Our Dev Team is working on multiple projects, all of which are high priority projects. I can assure you that this is definitely being worked on.
