Afrihost Fibre Feedback

Once you have the object number, it's a matter of minutes. In my experience :D

Wi-Fi router is connected and mail received from Vumatel stating it is connected an live.
Haven't connected LAN cable yet from fibre box as installer said i should wait until given configuration
So essentially just need to enter AH IP address (for internet), username & pass and plug in CAT 5 (as far as i can see)

Where would i get the object #?

I got mine from Nanofiber (these are the contractors Vumatel used to do the installation)

You can get the Object Number by connecting your WiFi router to the CPE device, and then by opening shop.vumatel.co.za over your Fibre. Once you have the Object Number, you can then access ClientZone.Afrihost.com - also over your Fibre - and go to Connectivity, selecting your Fibre and then completing the activation.

My installer was Britelink. Will see i get some feedback today (they installed on Saturday and confirmed live on Sunday - maybe i am too impatient) hehe

Thanks for this! Was never told this part. Will try when home,

What IP would i use though for connecitivity? (I have the Dlink D-825 and need to configure an Internet Gateway)

They should have given you all the information, with a tick sheet, and an explanation of each item, then you sign :D

Mine worked straight out of the box. I can't connect any other device to the CPE though.

My checklist was just how much cable he used hehe. And he also told me only LAN 1 can be used on the CPE as it is the only one they configure

The default IP address for the DLink is 192.168.0.1

:)

Thanks for everyone's input. Got home, set dlink to dhcp Internet address - connected cable.
Got redirected to Clientzone - Activated fibre.
Surfing on 20MB connection

Anyone here playing RB6 Siege (or any other FPS games with servers in Europe) using AH fibre? How are the pings?

Hi,
Not too awesome. Day three of 20MB premium uncapped and News24.co.za takes 3 minutes to open? Which should be faster? 2.4 GHZ or 5 GHZ?

5GHz, but in the case of browsing sites there should be near no difference. Can you confirm that it's your WiFi and not the internet connection?
Can you install https://www.techspot.com/downloads/5936-inssider.html and show us or PM me the channel graph (screenshot it)?

That doesn't need a license key? https://files01.tchspt.com/temp/inSSIDer-installer.msi
That link is to the last free version, after that they made it a paid product.

Thanks for the link. It takes me to a page listing software of which inSSIDer is not one. Performing a search show ver 3 as last free version. Clicking on that link to dl then opens a page which defaults to ver 4 (paid ver).

Also i am on a MAC so it appears only Ver 4 is available (Unless i am missing something)
