Afrihost going down the drain

unfortunately this will lead to the exact same disappointment as you can actually do nothing other than only inform me that I have an outstanding amount. I don't have the energy to work with this service provider anymore, I don't need try and justify myself anymore. I am finally moving along...
Please allow me to check. Could you confirm whether this advance payment has already been allocated to your profile?
Could you also let me know which payment reference you used? Have you sent your proof of payment before?

So you would person number 5 to tell me the same thing, there is nothing you can do... I would not be posting on this forum otherwise.

Remember you pay in advance, not in arrears. If they saying the payment you made 3 day ago was applied to last months payment, then it sounds like either you didn't pay last month for your services or you paid and they didn't pick it up and allocate it correctly. Or you have been double billed for something.

Easy to determine, ask them for a full statement for last 3 months, and compare your payments you made with the payments that are reflecting.

Exactly the way @Captain Sprocket you are moving its as if there some wrong doing on your end and you are failing to acknowledge it.

Well even if that's the case... I have had such a good track record with them as a SP for over a decade. never had an issue that did not ultimately result in customer satisfaction. That was until beginning of 2025 where I noticed a major shift in service... up to the point where I am sitting with constant frustration from small technical glitches to major payment issues. I have never used the clientzone compaints portal so much in past few months than I have had over the span of a decade and wasting too much energy to try and keep a service running that seems too volatile and prone to be against the customer... That's is just my take on it and venting my experience as customer which experienced the rise and seemingly fall of a once superiorly great SP.

You were lucky, your luck ran out, that's all.

Exactly my frustration... I paid 3 days "too early" for July (June's service was paid in the beginning June, then at the end of June I a made an upfront payment ahead of time for the month of July) , as my debit order always goes off on the 1st (to cover the month ahead), where the only difference here is I made a manual payment on the 29th of June instead of waiting 3 days for the debit order to go off . and that now caused my entire service to be suspended and penalized... fully functional and serving Domains just suddenly down and also no Wi-Fi to connect to. Now don't tell me that's great customer service.

This doesn't make sense, where did advance payment disappear to?

It seems when the debit was suppose to be deducted, it defaulted and showed a full amount still outstanding and not paid for the coming month... My account was fully satisfied even for June, I did not need to make an upfront payment, it just seemed convenient at the time as I was already busy settling accounts online and thought it would actually bring some ease of mind to know my domains are already covered ahead of time... The last thing I expected was getting suspended like this.

and what happened to the standard debit order?
Also, if you made a payment 3 days before the debit order was due to go off then it doesn't count. The debit order will still go off and if there is insufficient funds it will bounce. The AH payment system is basically locked in a week before the debit order runs. Those debit orders might ding off your account on the first, but they are processed by the 25th.

Yeah that 3 days was not enough.

You just caused yourself headache there. So will you be losing your domains since you are not about settling whatever outstanding fees there are?

Not sure what you are trying to say about the 3 days not being enough... This headache is surely not self inflicted as I rather tried preventing this than initiating such problems upon myself, I am definitely not going to hit my head again with this "once great" service... Well, the thing is, I am being pushed into a corner here, If I have no other way than to settle this account to retrieve intellectual property I will have to do that then, these domains are in full use and worth way more than the frustration this service provider is causing right now... Since April last year it has been one frustration after the other, even with simple little things where I have to wait almost a whole day to resolve things that should not be an issue to begin with (and if I inquire what the constant issue might be the answer is always "we had to clear the cache"), which sometimes causes halting in developments. I can proudly say I was one of the biggest advocates for A H, you can see it in my reviews over the past years, and same like you, when someone mentioned they have trouble with their account, I would also just tell, "nah it must be you doing something stupid"... I had a great run with Afrihost for many many years, now it's just is not the same family I was part of back then... Times has changed and so has service providers too... AH is just not the only "best option" anymore.
