Afrihost Mobile Delivery Feedback Thread

What sort of delivery delay are people experiencing now for NEW ORDERS? I am referring this product to many of my family and friends but do not want this great offer to be tarnished by a bad\delayed delivery experience....

We're seeing much better delivery times, not that we're doing day to day deliveries and not bulk back orders. I wouldn't worry too much about it, just remember the payment clearance on debit orders (up to 5 business days) versus credit cards getting instant clearance :)

Annoyed with Afrihost and their couriers. I ordered on Monday 22nd September, assuming that I'd at worst get my SIM this week and can stop paying Telkom to top up my prepaid sim. Nope. It'll be next Monday. The 30th. So now I'd better use up my 6GB of pro rated data that I paid for in the 12 hours that I'll have the SIM in September or it'll expire. This is seriously frustrating.

This is bull crap when they talk about 48 hour delivery. I understand that yesterday was a holiday, but that still leaves plenty of time over the 48 hours to get the sim to me. I'm in PE, not exactly out in the sticks.

Looks like I can at least pick it up myself tomorrow from the courier, which is a 20k round trip away. Disappointed in this first experience of Afrihost. Hopefully the rest of the service will make up for it.

Sorry to hear about the delays in delivery here :(
Have you been tracking it via the ClientZone?

The delivery can be 48 hours for major centres/ cities but will only happen once payment has been cleared.
Drop me a PM with your email address and I can follow up on where the delay came in here.

I picked it up Friday from the courier, so I got it, but it was an unbelievable hassle to get it from them. They wouldn't accept my proof of address (my lease agreement) because it was just one page, and since it was month to month it didn't have the date on it, even though I haven't had any issues with it for rica with both telkom and vodacom.

So I had to go back to my place (20ks) and get my landlord to sign it and date it again. Then I came back and they told me it still wasn't good enough, that I'd need my landlords ID book, a proof of address for him, and a signed letter from him confirming that I lived there. Which was insane.

So I rang CCD head office from the car park and complained, they apparently checked with you guys and it was of course, a completely valid proof of address, so I handed my cell phone to the lady in the PE office and she was told to accept it. A bit of a farce if you ask me. Some clearer guidelines on what's acceptable maybe are in order.

Wow, I'm sorry to hear that you had to go through so much trouble. :( I'm glad that you managed to get it sorted in the end.

RICA van be a very bureaucratic process sometimes, but it's unavoidable. :( Lease agreements are an accepted form of Proof of Residence, but it's usually assumed that these come attached with a date. You might want to chat to your landlord about this to avoid future problems. :(
