Please send me a PM so I can take a look for you.

The way that porting works is that all numbers are released by the current SP to a national porting "authority" and then can be signed out by a new SP. Generally speaking, if the number is not released, the new SP can't do anything with the number :(

Don't worry about it, it's all sorted.

Just a note for other members - you cannot get the Afrihost Plus benefits on an Afrihost mobile prepaid SIM. Only on a month to month contract. Don't ask me why this is the case, it just is.

AfriMan, please confirm that if I buy MTN airtime from the FNB app, it will work on my afrihost sim.

Yes, you can use any MTN prepaid airtime. Just remember that it is included in your balance which determines your replenishment at the beginning of each month. If you're doing prepaid with us, then you probably don't need to worry too much :)

Looks like the notice has been updated as we're recieving reports from around the country. MTN has acknowledged the issue and we're awaiting further updates from them

Seems like many clients are still connected but the outage is intermittently affecting others :(

First ime I noticed mine was down was just around 9:30. It only came back just before 3:00. So it was at least a 5 hour outage.

Is there anyway to stop MTNRewards sending SMS's at 6am each ****ing morning?
*130*601# and *130*603# have no effect on this!

Obviously the MTN marketing team are slightly brain dead thinking it's OK to SMS at 6am on a Sunday!

*130*601# should definitely work for opting out of any MTN promotional messages. Do the messages include any other un-subscribe options?

No opt out offered! Thursday through to today (Tuesday) at between 6.00 and 6.14am. MTN really have naff all clue as they say "you shouldn't get the messages" but as regular as clockwork a MTNReward SMS is sent!

Perhaps I can bill you or MTN for waking me "out of hours" two hours earlier than I need, at R500 per hour for six days and double time on Sunday Afrihost or MTN now owe me R7000. How do you wish to pay?

Perhaps try replying with STOP, this usually opts you out of these kind of campaigns.

There is no option to reply as it has no number!

The only cure is to port away from MTN/Afrihost ASAP.

I'm not sure I follow, how was the message delivered?
If via SMS, you can just reply to the message.

Speak to someone at MTN as no number SMS (i.e. those that arrive as MTN141, MTN or MTNReward) can NOT be replied to!

What hope? :(

So this appears as a USSD type message?
Mind taking a screengrab the next time you get it so I have a better idea of what's going on?
