Afrihost Mobile Speed Test

I am only getting speeds of 22.7 down and 2.99 up I am in Bryanston though so not sure if that is an LTE area
 
Agreed, 22Mbps is pretty good. What is your distance from the tower and what is your signal strength?

My guess, judging by your upload, is that you have no more than 1-2 bars. Ideally you want an upload speed of at least 8Mbps to have a model LTE connection.
 
Not sure distance to the tower, the signal strength says full

Afri-people .... please can you advise me? According to MTN you said my LTE is provisioned ... but it is not working. Can it be because the sim I received from you was not LTE branded?

I've just had a look at your PM too. When did you order the SIM from us? We can always try a SIM swap for you, or re-provision the SIM on our end.

I ordered it the evening ordering opened. Think it was late in the evening of the 3rd of the month that it became available. Was it sepetember? I was one of the early birds trying to catch the worm.
 
Okay if I select mtn lte it jumps to no signal :-(
 
Can you guys with LTE signal please stop posting these ludicrous speeds!
I am getting depressed, but hey as long as i get 2mbps+ i am happy ;)

Thinking of getting afrihost data cause MTN LTE is pretty amazing and coverage is VERY VERY good. Just a note to some people here. The coverage map is VERY outdated and MOST non major area's are already LTE enabled.

I can confirm that Richards bay, Empangeni and Mtunzini have LTE but its not shown on the coverage map.......

One wonders why the marketing whizzes are not pushing this hard now...while MTN is on top?

Yeah... From what I see MTN overtook all the networks in terms of their LTE footprint...... I think they have the most LTE available. If Richards bay and Empangeni got LTE then imagine how many other small towns have LTE that is not shown on the coverage map.......

That said the speeds are pretty impressive too.

I will advise every one to activate LTE if they have a LTE device they might have lte coverage and not even know it.......
