I recently got a LTE mifi ...

When i get my afrihost setup, you think MTN has allowed them on the LTEnetwork?
If i stick the sim in my LTE mifi , will i get LTE or just a strong fast 3g ?

Huawei - E5776s

Works amazing well on Vodacom and on 8ta ... (faster vodacom speeds though)

I believe that Afrihost has said that the preorder sims are not LTE compatible, might want to check with Afrihost.

The card is LTE,(network is LTE ready) but the mifi device on pre-order is not.

Is Mobile Data LTE compatible?

Our network is also LTE ready, and will be available provided your SIM AND Mobile Device are similarly LTE compatible. The Pre-Order MiFis are not LTE compatible, but do offer HSPA+ which can download up to 21.6 Mbps (depending on the coverage in your area).

LTE Devices will only be available on commerical launch on 3rd September.

I put this sim in my E3276 modem, and it picks up LTE MTN. I just cannot join the network.

Works fine on DC-HSPA+ and Edge

The SIM cards that went out on Pre-Order are not LTE ready, and they will not be able to be LTE capable even after launch. We'll have new LTE enabled SIMS at launch on 3rd September.

It may be your device picking up LTE networks, not the SIM itself.

Yeah, the device picks up LTE but obviously the SIM isn't authorised. No biggie, I'll cancel the SIM I got with this device and get another one when the LTE ones are out :D

@AfriMan can you confirm if some users who pre-ordered received LTE mifi devices. If that is the case then awesome unless I am not reading between the lines.

No, none of the pre-order SIMS were LTE enabled, and the MiFi cannot do LTE - they're all the same.

The only LTE SIMs will be available after launch (3rd Sept) - our network is LTE ready though

:D now if only I could get LTE coverage

MTN's LTE coverage in Durban is spotty like a teenager with acne.

Remember that LTE is still relatively new. MTN are building new towers all the time, so coverage will definitely improve over time. But I read recently that MTN's LTE was rated the best. Can believe it having seen how they do their thing! :)

So if we want LTE we have to get new sims after 03/10/2013 I wonder how much a sim swop will be

That I couldn't say. Not sure that we will be able to do SIM swops so for now you can assume that you'll have to cancel one and get the other. Remember it's only a data sim so you lose nothing. And we provide the SIM and Delivery for FREE :)

Afriman confirms they are taking over mtn :D haha just joking
