Afrihost + MTN perhaps LTE?

@Kopite

I think it would be worth the 197 upgrade fee... if there is not LTE in your are you will still get 3g ...
But if they ever add more towers you will be as good as gold ..

at the moment i can pick up LTE in some areas in the city bowl and atlantic seaboard ....
This is vodacom though ... still waiting for my afrihost sim and mifi ..so cant comment on that

Anyone got a list of LTE towers in the Cape Town area perhaps.
Just wanted to see if it would be worth upgrading.
My speeds at home are terrible, only getting 2.2MB/s

We don't have any LTE Map, but I can try to find out where the closest tower is. Drop me a PM and I'll see what I can do :)

Sorry about the wait. Let me know how the LTE is looking when you receive your SIM. Remember that you do have to get the LTE activated either on the SIM or on your APN number before you can access the LTE on our network (it's not activated by default currently)

In terms of that, if you are a contract MTN user and want to access LTE do you have to submit a request to MTN to enable LTE first or is enabling LTE on the APN good enough?

No, even if you don't have LTE on your MTN data package, we can still provision LTE on your Afrihost APN access - as far as I know. Let's give it a try, but I'm pretty sure it would be fine :)

Quick question. How do we order a new LTE sim through the client zone? I can't find that option anywhere :(

All our new SIMS should be LTE 128k SIMS. The only thing is that once you receive your SIM you need to request LTE activation, presuming you are in an LTE area and have an LTE capable device.

You can PM me for help with this :)
