Well if I switch to a different isp the account is stable, unless I am not understanding you correctly. I have updated my support ticket on Friday, but have never got a response.

I understand that, but switching between the accounts saw your experience normalise when you switched back to Afrihost - which means it isn't an Afrihost specific problem.

Afriteam. Intervene on this ticket before I go postal on support

I have a mobile data package and I going to cancel that and switch over to a physical connection. Telkom is going to come and install a landline to day at my house. What are my best option from here on? My main priority is high upload (atleast 8mbps) and Wi-Fi throughout the house.

Hey jacodebeer! Welcome to the DSL family! :) Feel free to drop me a PM with your personal details and I'll be happy to guide you through the entire process. :)

To be brutally honest, you won't get an upload speed of 8Mbps on any DSL or VDSL line on offer. Once you have your landline number, I can run an availability check and we can discuss the options available to you. :)

Some sites aren't working. For instance the ClientZone at Afrihost. One of my cloud servers at Afrihost. Google Play. But Gmail is working. So is MyBroadband.

That's pretty weird - all working for me routing via our Joburg IPC. Can you post a traceroute for me? :(

AAAARRRGGHHHH!

Afrihost moved our one server. But the guy they emailed have been on leave the last week and a half. He only saw it now. So now our server is down. On the phone to get it up or get password.

Other sites are now loading for me.

Cool on the sites.

Drop me a PM if you having any problems getting the info you need :(

8 MB up, are you sure you didn't mean to say 8 MB down? You won't get 8 MB upload with any copper line ADSL or VDSL in SA, however 8 MB download will be very possible with either a 8 MB or 10 MB line.

You will obviously need some sort of modem/router, by the sounds of it you want wifi in the house, I'd recommend something like a TP-Link Archer, D2, D5, D7 depending on your needs and budget.

The ISP part is obvious, Afrihost, with line rental I'm personally also with Afrihost but your choice.
When it comes to uncapped vs capped and amount of data per month, it all depends on your use.

Thank you I meant upload, I have a youtube and twitch channel so I need high upload, but on mobile it is to expensive to upkeep.

Max upload on ADSL or VDSL you'll get is 2 MB on VDSL if I remember correctly. Another option is Telkom LTE like the uncapped deal they are currently running for R799, though I'm personally still skeptical about its performance in the long term over the 24 month contract.
Then there's fiber, but I guess you don't have fiber in your area since you are busy having a copper line installed.

Not happening then...Go rent a fibre link or stick to LTE :)

and for those who dont know, AfriGuy's name is Andy. I have the evidence right here.
