Afrihost New Network Feedback - Part 2

For the last 4 days I've been using a VPN and it also coincide with a big improvement in my streaming in the Southern Cape with AH - especially youtube (except last night for about 2 hours very slow from about 19:20).
For what it's worth.

your experience has been very up and down from your posts. What VPN are you using, and unless you are being completely re routed via that vpn, then it would be interesting to see

From the 14th AH service went from almost to nothing. Southern Cape. Late on the 20th a marked improvement except for 2 mishaps. Still going strong. Youtube today Skynews stream at 720p - beautiful - 1080p gives a buffer - so prefer 720p.

As for VPN - Also a hit and miss but Borderless/One-vpn/Smart DNS Proxy. Take your pick. Depend on if you want Non-RSA Netflix.

Will log out of VPN tonight and see what happens. Not that one can make any conclusions.

If you don't mind me asking, what are you using at the moment? I've been using VyprVPN but they're a bit pricey at $10 a month.

Was almost going to ask,how do u watch skynews on youtube. They blocked it a couple months back for our country:(

I have used about everything out their. All from $4 to $15. Not a big diff for me. Also depends if you want to go Smart DNS or VPN. How secure do you want to be.
Nowadays I am in it only for Netflix. I've been using Borderless. Work 80% of the time - Canada Netflix only.
I like the company and what it stands for. Open and direct. My kind of people. $4 p/m, but remember you will always have to tinker with it.

Many moons ago I used CactusVPN. Very happy with it. Then Netflix started locking everybody out.

I also fool around with Softether - purely for the enjoyment.
 
The crappy part is that critical care does not even answer emails anymore. Sent a mail to them on Thursday, but no response.
It seems Afrihost wants us to go :'(

So you are saying AH still not delivering in Western Cape/Durbanville. Southern Cape A1 sofar. Hopefully it will give me a buffer free sports streaming day.
 
Im using google dns. My media player kept losing connection. Rebooting the router fixed it for a while.

Not sure whats happening, but will monitor.
