So I'm sitting with a problem I woke up this morning with none of my devices able to connect to the internet. Modem says everything is fine, line is syncing and connected to the internet. Funny thing is that when I look at my access log on the client zone it gives my IP address as US starting with 10. Could this be the reason why I'm unable to connect to the internet because there is a long delay hence timeouts occurring? Is this a DNS problem on Afrihost side or something I can fix?
If your public IP is 10.x.x.x.x then it'll indicate some form of an auth/ port issue - mind PMing me your DSL username so I can take a closer look at this?
hmmm, my DNS 1 shows 10.0.x.x and DNS 2 shows nothing? Hmmm but DNS is set to Auto, so is that right, because if its set to auto DNS, would it not bring up the AH DNS of 169.1.1.1? Or would that show if i manually set it like that?
Sounds like your router is doing DNS forwarding.
There seems to be a discrepancy between the amount of data the client portal says I've used and the amount of data the downloaded csv file says I've used.
Client zone says I've used 95.18 GB + 364.20 GB Free-Time Data which would be 459.38gb in total.
The spreadsheet says I've only used 284046.34 mb (or 277.4 gb if you assume there are 1024mb in a gb). While not exact this number is closer to free time data minus peak data.
Tell me more? is that an issue? BTW i noticed this, because on my Android media player under ethernet settings, i can see the DNS and noticed that it shows something like 10.0.0.5
Hehe, no it's not an issue. It just means that your router essentially caches your last x DNS lookups.
So any DNS lookups will come back as being queried from your router directly.

Some routers act as a DNS server to all the devices on your network. Is 10.0.0.5 the address of your router?
run ipconfig on a Windows machine if you have one and check what is listed under Default Gateway?
Hhhmm, sounds like an odd one.
Mind dropping me a PM with your DSL username so I can see how the data is added up?

Thanks for trying to assist via PM but no matter what the numbers don't add up. Is it possible the spreadsheet figures are still including the 6am-6pm usage figures?
