Youtube videos just buffers, then after a page refresh, goes to 1080. I'm on a capped account.

I wasn't made aware of any issues in general on the network. If you're still seeing this, please drop me a PM.

Random question, why does my IP address with AH change 3 to 4 times a day?

It's causing issues with false account sharing on certain services.

You shouldn't change IP addresses unless your session ends. What could be happening is if your line is dropping connections faster than our Radius can see you ending your session, you get assigned a new IP before the old one is released. That could be due to a problem between your line and the exchange intermittently dropping sessions :(

Well my line was fixed but I have gone from having no ASSIA on my line, and it working perfectly before the storm, to being fixed and having ASSIA re-enabled  Sigh..........

Afri-guys I have PM'd TelkomZA and sent a message through the Client Zone ( Critical Care nogal because I still have the ticket open :p ) to please get that BS off my line. Anything you can do or do I need to PM ?

It's usually a bit of a struggle to get ASSIA removed, because Telkom want line management to be as automated as possible to reduce fault logging, etc.

If you are already working with Critical Care on your line, then that's the best route to go. PM me and I will also check in with them for you :)

If you have a direct line to Gian
Please ask him to STOP SENDING ****ING SPAM.

i have 10+ emails to support where they promised my email has been removed but I continue to receive his unwanted crap.

If you've been removed from the mailing list, you shouldn't receive any mails. Let me make sure that you are put on that list. Can you please PM me your email address?

Anyone else having issues logging on to their account this morning? I'm getting incorrect password errors on one, despite it not having changed.

EDIT: NVM, seems to be fixed now...

Hi All,

Long time no post!

A bit confused, my line and browsing seems perfect, however my downloads won't even think about crossing the 10Kbps mark O_o Any idea whether the uncapped portion of the unshaped capped accounts is shaped?

Yeah Telkom want to do as little as possible while making our experience as rough as possible it seems  Took me 4 months the last time to get off of ASSIA and I am sure they were more than happy to put me right back on it. Pranav from the Crit Team is on it :) Thanks Afriperson :D

Was this logging into ClientZone, or just general issues?

Yo! Nice to see you back here again :)

Free-Time is definitely not shaped as it's the same capped business rules. Do you have a link I can test?

No, it was logging username and password into router settings. Seems to be working now but earlier not so much. Was getting incorrect username or password error message from router.

Am I right the number of concurrent connections on the capped accounts is still 5?

Awesome - Pranav is a rock star indeed :)

And max line speed on all concurrent connections? So if I'm currently connected on a 10Mb, 20Mb and 40Mb line they all would run at full line speed?

Morning AfriMan,

Would you be able to look into my line, since about Thursday last week the lines been very unstable, SNR sits at 16-22db but then suddenly there's a surge of CRC errors and the snr drops erratically from that 22 all the way down to as low as 0.1 the line drops and then its normal for anywhere from 15-45 minutes and then the cycle starts all over again.

Quite a few ips not being routed past your network right now:

PS C:\Users\tanka> tracert ewn.co.za

We can definitely do that! :) Drop me a PM with your line number and I'll try to see what's going on.

Experiencing the same on both my Business 10mb and 20GB accounts. checked Torrents last night using multiple Torrent clients, and well seeded Torrents refused to pass the 50kb mark. Something is broken somewhere.

AfriMan, can I check something with you please? Why would Afrihost promote web chat on the IVR telephone system, but ALL the web chat departments shows offline on your website? And that during the day?

Our LiveChat Team appears to be online at the moment. Are you getting an error message when you request a new chat session?

Which DNS servers are you using at the moment?

How is your streaming performance? Are you seeing any other services that are running slowly on your connection?

I'm using the following DNS servers: 169.1.1.1/169.1.1.2 - the Web chat still shows offline for all departments, I'll probably have to give the call centre a call a bit later. Streaming seems to be fine, but NNTP and Torrents are messed up.

Hi xxxxxxx

I've just received an update from the representative at the DTAC team at Telkom.
He managed to remove the Profile Optimisation [ASSIA] and set the line to FastPath again,
the line now syncs on 10mb :) [refer to screen-grab].

Please let me know if theres anything else I could help with.

Wish you an amazing day further, & please let me know any other way I can delight you!

Warm Regards

Pranav - Critical Care Crew

I have to hand it to the Afrihost Critical Care Team. My **** but they are on the ball. They got the Telkom DTAC people to remove their BS ASSIA . Afripeoples, please give Pranav my deepest thanks. He has kept me updated daily on my line up until repair, and went as far as to make sure that they got that BS ASSIA crap from my line. Taking that ASSIA BS off my line pushed my SNR up to 11 on fastpath instead of the 6 I was getting with ASSIA. My line stats have never looked this good.

It took them a single day to do what took me 4 months last time. Colour me impressed. The standard support people are a little slow, and don't tell you much other than that they have logged it etc. but after Afriman put me onto the Critical Care people.... holy mother of *** but thats what ALL support should be like. I don't usually give kudos but this warranted it.

Thanks again Afripeeps.
