So Afriperson ....

Right now you are the easiest person to contact

I have sent a response to my issue via clown zone ..... but nobody bothered to respond ..... so I tried again ...... but what the hey ..... nobody responds at AH.

So I phoned and got the now trademarked ''we have had an influx of calls'' (but dont need more staff) .... the waiting is is 6 minutes (at YOUR expense. )

So off to live chat that is actually dead ..... nobody to be seen on dead er live chat.

All I need is someone ...... ANYONE ..... to deal with my slow line

I have logged two support tickets hoping SOMEONE will do SOMETHING

Poor poor stuff AH.

I am not amused in the least.

:(

I see that the fault has been open since December. We've escalated the fault with Telkom, we're just waiting for Telkom to dispatch a tech to you so that they can get your DSL line back to the 4Mbps profile.

Telkom are around ..... they can come to my house, I wont bite .....

Same here. Steam downloading at 18KB/s.
Quickly changed to my WA account and full speed (400KB/s)
But wait...

Probably LATENCY on my exchange hey Afrihost.

*rolls eyes*

Oh whoop de doo

Upload Speed: 409 kbps (51.1 KB/sec transfer rate)
Latency: 33 ms
Jitter: 6 ms

The backlog of faults with Telkom is kinda high at the moment, we're doing our best to make sure faults are attended to as quickly as possible.

Would you be able to post a speedtest comparing both accounts? If you're seeing latency a traceroute would also help a lot.

The problem isn't with Telkom. This is what happens when hundreds of people complain about slow speeds and AH support push the blame onto Telkom/exchanges.

Telkom came to my house today. I explained the issue to them and they said oky, they are going to go and replace something at the exchange (think she said MSAN?). It hasn't changed a damn thing though.

I'm still sitting with over 2000 ms latency at this moment. Fantastic.

So, after this I got an sms saying the issue was resolved, if not reply NO. So I replied NO which opened the ticket again.

Not sure if Telkom did something again, but my internet has been (mostly) fine...until tonight. I was happily gaming when all of a sudden, bam! Latency through the roof. This only happened at about 20:30.

Can you guys please log another fault with Telkom, and this time they need to try something else.

Edit: I forgot to add, I have also been having random disconnects and line "de-syncing" tonight.

You aren't the only one that has that problem. Try a test account with another ISP. I'm willing to bet the problem goes away.

My current speeds on 20Mbps so called unshaped uncapped. Same thing every night after 6pm, latency up and speeds down the crapper.

If the actual sync on the DSL line is 2,3Mbps when it's supposed to be 4Mbps I can't see how it's anything less than the DSL line.

Probably because Telkom has forced his profile onto interleave. Change the profile to fastpath...

I hope the original fault was kept open! I'll follow-up and make sure that Telkom is aware of the line still being problematic.

That would affect the latency on the DSL Line... And not the actual line sync. I understand that you are trying to assist, but I can't see how you are contributing to getting the line fault resolved if don't have access to the fault history or the Telkom escalations.

Why don't you assist me by explaining why between 6-11pm every night I get less than half the line speed I pay for? I still haven't received an answer besides all my posts and screenshots.

By the way... fastpath will affect the line sync pushing it higher and lowering his latency.

My point exactly... no answer again.

I can't see how you are contributing by bullshting clients every night about what the possible issue could be for their slow internet when you know it's because AH have run out of capacity.

Refund me my data charge for January and I will gladly move it onto another ISP that has capacity.
