Been having wonky p2p speeds for the past couple of nights.

Even on the Ubuntu test torrents that the AH reps requested to be tested.
One second full line speed (3.4 mbps) then the next it drops to 0.8 mbps. The torrents are also very slow in starting up.

See graph below. Time is in seconds.

P2p are fine during the day and usually starts this nonsense at about 7 pm and lasts until about midnight or so.

YouTube streams perfectly at 720p.
Google play store updates also jerky like the p2p.
Http download of ps4 update file is prefect.

So what gives?

Well another evening and the normal slow speeds between 19:00 and 22:00 appeared on time. Tonight it including gaming now as well. Diablo totally unplayable. getting response in game time ping times of over 1500ms.

Anyone having issues with Gmail?

Oh yes. Gmail wont load, facebook wont load. Some international sites straight up refuse where others load fine. My Diablo latency is fine. Pinterest is also taking a poop (the wife screaming from the lounge). Something is broken yes

This is a very unique and tricky problem, hence the extended process. Our CC Team is confident that they're getting to the bottom of the issue, though!

IMO, yes, your network is hitting capacity (which is not a quick fix) between 19/20:00 and 22:00 and you are "shaping" business uncapped first after shaping home and premium already, before having to shape capped users next if load on said network hasn't subsided.

This is why it's tricky, tricky because "management" has not authorised you to mention the word "IPC capacity" yet.

Sadly, when there are signs of network capacity issues, p2p is the first to suffer.

but most of the complaints here isn't even p2p. It is NORMAL sites, like Facebook, gmail, twitter, pinterest and even iTunes. Really don't want to move away from AH as I have several packages with them, but seems like it might be time to jump ship.

I can add that I was experiencing the exact same issue on my Web Africa account. Between 7pm and 10pm speeds dropped down drastically. However on my free Afrihost account speeds were perfect, so I switched to Afrihost as my provider and no trouble since. Seeing as how both ISP's are suffering a similar issue but are not using the same network this information could help pinpoint where the common factor is.

Afriman, Afrigenie, Afriguy, Afrifella, who ever is online when you see this please check your inbox, Its my account dispute. Please help me with this. Thanks

no problems for me last night with Torrents etc, or general browsing. It was a bit slower than normal, but it was at an acceptable level. i did have a few disconnects though while streaming, but that was like twice.

It's definitely not a capacity issue, and it's tricky because the issue isn't affecting all of our test accounts identically when we manage to recreate the issue. If it was a case of affecting every single account, it would be easier and quicker to figure out what is causing the issue to crop up intermittently.

Thanks! That does actually help quite a bit! :)

Will do!

We're narrowing down on the potential causes of the issues that you describe, and I'm confident that you won't have to endure these issues much longer.
