Facebook is definitely working normally for me. Are you visiting a particular link or just Facebook.com? Is this on HTTPS?

Happened to Facebook and Gmail too but just for a moment then I refresh and it then it works.

Just Facebook.com. Yeah on https.

Does this happen in any browser you use? For some reason I am assuming the errors are from Chrome?

Just another update. Same error ERR_NETWORK_CHANGED happened now on mybroadband forum too. But refreshes and it's fine.

Something else I just noticed my wireless connection drops and switches to cable and then back to wireless all within a second or two.

Happens with Firefox as well. Not just chrome.

Same with my other issue of getting the same errors while downloading. Firefox and Chrome.

Have you tried swapping out the router/using a cable? That sounds more like your router is dropping the connection.

Router is just few months old. Haven't had any issues till few weeks ago.

That ERR error few others were having it also previously, not sure if they still are though.

The wireless connection dropping and coming back I don't know if that could be a router issue. I am using cable so if wireless does drop it switches to cable instantly but the drop is so quick it's barely even noticeable.

The longer I stay with Afrihost the more depressed I get.

Had terrible issues with download speeds and high latency in the past. Thought that the business upgrade would assist.... alas i am a gullible soul. Nothing has changed all i get for logging tickets is the same generic emails from there support staff. The moment i switch to my telkom account downloads and latency is fine.

Can someone please advise if there is a contact number/email for someone who actually deals with customer issues not some autobot support staff member?

This looks like really horrible exchange congestion to me. The second hop is off Telkom's BRAS, clearly a backhaul issue here or a line fault causing high latency :(

Looking at it, every time your hop to router spikes you get a corresponding spike in all subsequent.
Have swapped the cable/router yet?

Seems like there are keen observers... this was taken on the 25th - I have a critical care team looking at my issues - switched to Wireless and this is my result:

You're using the same network here, routing and everything else identical. Only think I can imagine is that your port was reset when you switched accounts :(

I think it depends on what is causing the latency. If the problem is exchange or local network related, nothing on the ISP end is going to make much of a difference. If that's the case, I'm really sorry if we gave you the wrong advice here. Sometimes Telkom accounts (like the Guest account) will perform differently to ISP accounts depending on the infrastructure they use.

Can you post a traceroute for me please?

You are also welcome to PM me so we can get to the source of this issue :(

Speedtest is going swimmingly but streaming from err gentleman sites is really poor.

That could be the issue. If you disable WiFi on the PC and use cable only, do you ever get this error?

I do get the error with using cable, when downloading and trying to browse. Get all those ERR error messages.

But I haven't tried to see if I get the same error messages with just only browsing. I've switched to just cable now and not downloading anything so will keep an eye and see if I get that error message. Happens very randomly.

I definitely do get the ERR error messages when downloading and trying to view those sites I mentioned, whether I'm on wireless or cable.

I'm hoping all that has made sense.

Also the wireless connection dropping and switching to cable and then back to wireless doesn't happen when I try on web africa account.

I suppose asking for links is out of the question in polite society.

Please feel free to drop me a discreet PM. Can't get through the weekend without a little vice ;)

Definitely a weird one. Unless your WiFi network is using some sort of different settings or protocols, can't understand why WiFi would drop but cable would work, from an ISP perspective :(

Yeah, insanely weird situation. No idea why it would drop with one ISP and not with another.

All settings are same. Nothing different. I've not changed anything either.
