Hi.

It is the client's choice; unless we encounter certain issues with different services, we advise the client to use our default DNS.

If you use the Afrihost DNS you get redirected to their different CDNs and not the ones everyone else shares.

The main benefit you will get from using Afrihost's DNS is their on-net caches.
They have akamai, apple, youtube/google and netflix caches, using their DNS will point you to their own on-net caches.

It will mostly impact akamai and apple caches as they use DNS to determine which nodes you hit, I think youtube and netflix decide on their side based on your IP.

For apple you can test which cache you hit by browsing to: http://test.edge.apple/debug/

@Afrigirl I seem to be having issues streaming via the Infuse app connected to OneDrive on both AppleTV and iPhone. It appears I'm being rate limited because my average speeds are about 2Mbps.

When I download any of the video files directly from OneDrive I don't encounter the speed problem.

What could be happening here?

Can you do a traceroute to adguard dns when you see the issue again please.

I've reported these to Afrihost a few times...

The 2 CPT servers, rate limit queries due to high increase and that is why ICMP is not priority
