My friend has Openserve web connect, when he first got it we could connect to my pc via parsec no issues now he no longer can connect due to CGNAT, I tried zerotier which connected but with 600ms of latency which was impossible to use

Not sure what telkom did as it did work before
 
Positive feedback from the East (Durban) over the years:

Ping / Jitter are the lowest I seen ever so far compared to the rest of the ISP's I used/use at work and friends/families places.
Speeds are above what's advertised most of the time.
Line did not drop even once for me for years.

Yesterday was a tough day with the issues.

Just to give some clarity on the issues. We completed a core network upgrade. The new upgrade more than doubles our capacity in Durban as we upgrade hardware to make 100G and 400G links the new standard.

2 faulty links on the core after the upgrade caused the issue experienced and we shut those while they are getting replaced. Going forward Durban will have quite a robust and high switching capacity network core.

Thank you for your response. My connection keeps randomly disconnecting, which seems to occur only at night while I’m playing online games. It’s frustrating because the game freezes, and I end up losing everything when the connection drops.

What could be causing these random disconnections? All the lights on my ONT box remain green.

Just submitted another ticket which is one of thousands CEW-708-65971

@AfriNatic Do you remember helping me some time ago with a similar problem? The changed something to fix it last time.

Was there anything done for PE? Seem to be losing less packets when playing on overseas servers now
 
My Openserve fibre in Heidelberg has been down since very early this morning.

If I check the Afrihost website for network status it only shows an Openserve problem for Bloemfontein but it was for yesterday 13/11/2024
