Afrihost - Pure Fibre Feedback Thread Part 2

Doesn't look like a complete loss of service but there was a big drop in traffic but have restored to normal levels. Are you still experiencing issues?
Ping is 160+ for Cod and Discord
Edit: Seems to of been fixed now

I see Telkom LTE died at the same time as openserve in PE, but has recovered.

I wonder if it was perhaps NLD related as there was a slight latency increase for a little while.

Been getting disconnects over the last 24-48 hours.
Connection drops for a few minutes then comes back up.
No LOS light on my ONT, so it doesn't appear to be an issue with the physical fibre.

This is Openserve fibre, running an Afrihost 50/25 that got the promo bump to 100/50.

Hey, is there something up with international?

I'm playing Classic wow with a friend and we both suddenly have very high latency, both on Afrihost. He is in CPT and I'm in PTA, so either something funky on Afrihost or the actual server. :X3:

Edit: Looks like the server. Speedtest to London gave normal ~ 180ms

Hi

Can you drop me a pm with your email address so I can have a look for you?

Anyone else struggling with poor international speeds? Openserve - Durban, Musgrave area.

Running through a local VPN seems to get me back to normal speeds

We have all our caches online and pushing quite a lot of traffic.

There are issues with Google JHB direct. Traffic is routed to Kenya and France currently instead of serving from JHB. It's unclear why that is we are gathering data and graphs and will log it with Google noc but so far if clients are served from our caches there aren't any issues.

Hi

This could be packetloss related possibly on the FNO side.

Can you do a continuous MTR to 1.1.1.1 and post the results.

Looks like there is loss on the line. When did the issue start and what times do you experience the issue?

Started a couple days ago - seems to be consistent (the same throughout the whole day)

Latency and packet loss to EU servers in rocket league are perfect, just the speeds are dog slow.

Please send @Afrigirl and me a pm with your email address so we can investigate and log a fault for you.

Hey All.

Already chatting with @Afrigirl but just checking - Anyone else getting bad packet loss on Vuma - West Rand area - Intermittent connection.

Hi

Apologies for the late reply.

Vumatel is busy with an aggressive upgrade process and has completed 68% of the problem OLT's. The upgrade phase started on the 11th of December and is currently ongoing. The remaining 32% of OLT's that are still affected will be completed by the 29th of December if there isn't any issue that arises.

Hi, do you know if the upgrades are completed?
