Afrihost - Pure Fibre Feedback Thread Part 2

Hi,
Also posting about limited connectivity.

Since the early hours of this morning, I have connection for about 5 seconds then its down for 10 seconds.
No warning lights on ONT or router both rebooted multiple times.

There was a Gauteng network incident on the Afrihost site but that has since been marked as resolved.

Any updates?

Hi.

The issue is nationwide, affecting all our FNOs on DHCP.
We are working tirelessly to have this resolved as soon as possible.
We apologise for the inconvenience caused during this period.

UPDATE • 16:34 • 18 Aug 2025

Our engineers are still actively working on resolving the connectivity issue affecting clients on the Afrihost network. While we have identified the root cause, work is still ongoing to fully restore services. We understand the inconvenience this may be causing and assure you that restoring your connection remains our top priority.

Got an sms at 4pm from afrihost apologising for interruptions and that services have been restored. Doesn't seem so.

Afrihost hit by outage

Internet service provider Afrihost has been hit by an outage, causing downtime for all its fibre customers, regardless of infrastructure provider.
For me on MFN the network remained up, lucky I guess, I came on here to check if there was an issue before contacting support when I suddenly saw my public IP was gone and I was stuck in CGNAT.

I wasn't so lucky,

I left the house with no idea that I had a problem since the 5G backup internet kicked in, however upon returning home I couldn't open my gate or my garage due to my VPN not working at all.

Even Cloudflare tunnel was having issues.

I really need to find a permanent situation for this scenario...

I am still getting a 100.98.87.xx ip address, which seems to be GNAT
Yes, when the service is restored most clients will be under a CGNAT IP. We are still confirming with other clients if service has been fully restored or it's still intermittent.

Please let us know when we can reboot / restart interfaces to get public IP's.
