Afrihost - Pure Fibre Feedback Thread Part 2

Hi

The 30 day notice is a Vumatel term. We submit the cancellation via api and then it's a 30 days term which Afrihost absorbs the costs for. We can then immediately release the line so it's available for the new ISP to migrate.

Once the new ISP places an order it takes a few minutes for the line to be activated at the new ISP not 5 working days.
That's fine, but why did you come back and say you'd cancel on the 31 May then? (instead of the 30th June) ?
I was happy to wait until end of June. (I never insisted to cancel earlier)

Do we need to do anything special on Vumatel when changing routers?

Received a new router today and it looks like it’s not authenticating. Assuming it’s bound to the old routers MAC address.

Please visit login.afrihost.com to activate.

Thanks, am I meant to visit from the fiber line or from a mobile connection? Not able to connect via either.

Edit:
The router says it’s connected and gives the same WAN ip as I see in the Afrihost portal but there is no throughput.

I connected my previous router and the exact same happens. Both connect, no throughput. No settings were changed on the old router either.

My Openserve connection is completely dead and I took leave for tomorrow's Diablo iv launch. I swear I feel defeated.

@Afrigirl @AfriNatic - are there currently issues on the network?

I’m unable to hit even the activation page but I get an IP address on my router as well as plugging a PC directly into the CPE.

No throughput though.

Tried to use the WhatsApp help line but they were trying to blame it on a DSLAM 20km away and said my whole street should be down but I checked with neighbours and messaged in the neighbourhood group and no issues.

Do you guys offer public ip's on Metrofibre ? One of my mates is getting CG-Natted and now can't access his vpn at home

Is there nothing that can be done on your end to reduce latency to EU West for Diablo 4? It's like 230ms over openserve fiber, pretty insane.
Please try th CPT PPTP server.
