Afrihost - Pure Fibre Feedback Thread Part 2

On Afrihost with Openserve 100/50 line and its completely dead.

Bayview, in Stranfontein, Cape Town.

The Openserve Nokia box, has a red light, Alarm, that's on.

Anyone know what's up?

Edit: I have rebooted both devices without any joy.

This happened again from 01:28 this morning till about 02:15.
We were in the 3rd hour of loadshedding, Not sure if it was related.

But thankfully its back on and I can get back to work!

You didn't try turning it off and on again before contacting support?
It was a new line installation and it had to be activated and configured to work. Since I live far away and my parents are pensioners and know nothing about IT, it had to be done remotely via support.

hi, I've recently added ny.hosted.co.za to list of IP's that I'm monitoring, I see there is significant amount of packet loss compared to local and UK. anyone else seeing the same thing?

Please drop me a PM with your Bnumber or email address so I can check with Openserve.

I will go through and log it for you now.

Please add Afrigirl to the conversation. I'm currently on night shift so your ticket can be followed up during the day when I'm off shift.
@Afrigirl @AfriNatic. Just an Update. a openserv tech had come out and troubleshooted with his test account connected directly to the ONT with the same result. he was advised to replace the ONT. once he replace the ONT he started to test again with the same result. he had confirmed the issue is somewhere on openserv and not with the fiber and ONT on premis. he said he will close the call with a note as the guys at telkom pretoria will need to look at it. So the issue is not yet resolved. it seems the issue is when traffic comes back. he also suspects since the last fiber outage for lenasia the repair was not done correctly. if i could ask Afrihost to keep a eye and put pressure on telkom for resolution
