Afrihost - Pure Fibre Feedback Thread Part 2

@AfriNatic I placed a migration order on the 31st of May with my line being released by my previous ISP on the 1st and afrihost still haven't completed the migration order with only 1 update 3 days ago. Could you please look into this? The reference I received on email is 292247860A
Hi.

I cannot locate the given order number; please check for the other reference starting with AH. You can also drop me a PM with your email address.

Probably worth posting this here. Because holy **** it's a real eye opener.
I've been trying to place an order for an openserve fibreline with afrihost for about 2 weeks.
I've explained, multiple times, over and over and over the past few days. That I know we already have vumatel fibre here. But I want openserve.
I've also explained, that I contacted openserve and they said they can do the install but an order must be placed.
Every single response I get is "Sorry for the inconvenience. But vumatel currently has fibre infrastructure here"
Or.. "Has open serve got infrastructure in there" to which I keep having to say no. BUT I WANT THEM TO SO WHAT MUST I DO.

Here's the chat history.
Good day

Thank you for the prompt response.

Upon checking your address I noticed that Vumatel is the actual Fibre provider is the complex.

Me:
Hi there,

So over the last two weeks I've been specifically enquiring in regards to having an alternative line installed at my premises.
Currently I have a vumatel line with coolideas as an isp but have been having issues for months.

I logged tickets on the afrihost portal to confirm and I also contacted openserve about having a physical openserve line installed into my home as well.
Then I would like to use afrihost for that line. Openserve specifically said they can install into my home.

Please can you confirm again whether this is possible or not.

Thanks.

My property is also next to the street.
Additionally the current vumatel fibre termination box for the estate is on my garden wall (inside).

I asked Openserve if they can do an installation to my premises without having to hook the entire estate up to openserve, making it a per order basis to which they said yes.

Basically, I need a second line. I work from home and for the US and I cannot have down time like I currently do on vumatel :)

Thanks again, let me know if this is possible.

Afrihost response.
Good day

Apologies for the inconvenience caused.

Please may you confirm with the Body Corporate of your complex if Openserve has done the Fibre infrastructure.

If you need anything further, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Have a great day further

My response:
Hi there,

Please know that I am part of the trustees here.

Openserve has not done the fibre here. Vumatel arial has done the fibre here.
I've said this a couple times already.

I just need a new fibre provider so I can have two fibre lines. One with vuma one with openserve please.

That's all I'm really trying to do here.

Please let me know what to do next. Openserve said they can do an installation either way. My home is right next to the street (fibre).

Your response:

Apologies for the inconvenience caused.Upon checking the address on the Opensserve portal your complex is not live with Openserve, Vumatel is the only Fibre provider granted Fibre access to the complex. If you need anything further, please do not hesitate to contact us.Have a great day further

What the actual **** is this?
1)
I have a vumatel fibre line.
2)
I need an openserve fibre line.
3)
I will pay for both the vumatel fibre line as well as the openserve fibre line.
4)
That's it. That's literally all I want. Is this honestly that challenging?

What the actual **** is this?

I've got Openserve at my complex. It's only available to the houses on the outside wall which reach the phone lines. Not the houses in the middle. Yet Openserve says the whole complex has fibre. Seems similar to you.

The difference is we only have Openserve, no other FNO in the complex.

Afrihost has to pay Openserve to install that line. When a line already exists, maybe it doesn't make sense for them to do that, unless you're willing to pay the installation fee.

Either way this is something that should be possible.

Thanks giggity.
At this stage I'm just ranting.
Yeah my home is on the boundary wall. I have the vumatel fibre box on my garden wall as well. For the whole estate.
I just want openserve to install here as well. I'll pay for everything if I have to. A few home owners want to move to openserve as well.
My main issue is that the idiot dealing with my ticket... keeps sending me the same **** every time. It's legit the same person who keeps responding to me saying I have vumatel here....... .which I clearly already know.

Yeah I am in a similar boat to you. I have Vumatel here at my house and then just down the road is Openserve. (LITERALLY 200M AWAY FROM ME) I would pay for the entire installation but no one wants to help out.

What's worse. My estate has Openserve coverage. Like... I can physically see the openserve line running next to my property out the window.
I checked their website. Yep it's covered.

I can even place an order.
But when I do, I get an email saying there's already vumatel here. Which I'm well aware of. For two weeks straight now I've been sending e-mails to an afrihost rep. Re-explaining each time that I know I have vumatel but I want open serve and all he keeps doing is TELLING me that there's vumatel already.
He hasn't said it's not possible, not doable or they're just not interested.
This is like buying mtn lte.
Then buying telkom lte.
But telkom says there's already mtn lte so they not going to sell you telkom lte.
But they have their own towers.

JUST TAKE MY DAMN MONEY PLEASE

Thanks giggity.

Hi.

Please share the ticket ID.

Thank you.
You are covered. I have escalated to Openserve for a Manual order. I will update you as soon as there is feedback.

Hi @Afrigirl

Also curious if this is possible I’m also on the boundary wall of our complex and the complex next door has Openserve we have Vumatel

The Openserve poll is against the wall with the black box on it

Hello.

Please check your PM.

Internet went down few minutes ago. Vuma Village Pineslopes/Lonehill
It's back now but I only have access via WiFi now. When I re-connect Lan cable I have no internet access.
And speeds are slow now too

@Afrigirl @AfriNatic looks like connection now keeps dropping for few seconds then coming back.
And still no internet when I connect Lan cable, only WiFi.
