Afrihost - Pure Fibre Feedback Thread Part 2

Saw this coming and I downgraded to the lowest speeds earlier this month 50/25 Mbps.
Changes to the Openserve 50/25 Mbps are solely an Afrihost change; the FNO has not announced any package changes.

Meh, Frogfoot Price increase , dont really like it. if anything should come with a speed upgrade, not just a price increase.

but what can one do, FNO will be FNO
Over the years, Ive gone down from 200/200 to 100/100 to 40/40 cuz of price changes and now again - just somewhat annoying and shows how the customer journey is to pull back.
I remember when i paid R1017 for 200/200 (double speed promo) - now just under 700 for 1/4 of the speed 4 years later.

Is this an issue with the FNO?

Seems okay in CPT

cutting it close if it's meant to be from Feb innit?
Speed increases for existing clients will happen during February and price increases will happen on 01 March 2024.
We still have to match clientzone profiles to the newly allocated speeds.
For new sign-ups, the new speeds will be available from the 1st of Feb and for existing clients, all changes should be effective by the 1st of March.

Funny enough, I am already on the new speeds, or speed test is just lying to me...

So we still have time to change packages before the new prices kick in?

@Afrigirl I need to log a issue with congestion happening (again) with Frogfoot in Tableview area. The last time it took a couple of times of convincing with first line support to actually log it with Frogfoot.

@CoolEscalator Has been monitoring my line (Pingplotter) as another user with them (also in my area) reported the elevate latency and packetloss.

As you can see, the avg ping to the NNI gateway is 124ms

EDIT: Update as of 18:50 (40/40 Line)

+1

FNO: Frogfoot
Location: Burgundy Estate/Bothasig, Cape Town
Line: 250/250
Time: Initially noticed degradation around 18:40 or so, been consistently bad to worse since then.

Pingplotter traceroute to Cloudflare (1.1.1.1) really poor with an average 17.2% packet loss and ping around 170ms; Google a bit worse, images below.

Internet is unfortunately unusable.

@soulassassin - it seems like Openserve is having some issues according to https://downdetector.co.za/status/openserve/

Same for Frogfoot - https://downdetector.co.za/status/frogfootfibre/

There seems to be an outage in Goodwood (FRG4361777) source - https://www.frogfoot.co.za/network-status/ however that's over 6 hours ago.

FrogFoot tier 3 is investigating.

I can see a significant bump in traffic on the NNI in CPT now.
