So.. when exactly do you need to downgrade by?
Downgraded on the 22nd as that is what was mentioned that the you should do this before the 23rd.
Got an invoice for the old line speed. Said oh, maybe they'll change it for Jan 2020 rather.

Mid month, line speed gets downgraded after paying for a higher line speed? WTF?

We used to specify by the 23rd, but we've changed it to before the 15th, as we now start our billing run much earlier. If you did it on 23rd November , it will be 1st of Jan :)

I also need to downgrade so this info will be useful

Does the downgrade happen anytime during the month or at the end of the month?

Downgrade is always month end or following month end (if you miss the billing run) - cos you've already paid for the month at this speed.

Upgrade is mid-month, as you pay pro-rata.

Why was I downgraded mid month then? On the 6th to be more exact?
Both accounts I have had the same issue

International seems to be pretty damn slow today out of the blue. Not sure if load shedding related or what.

I'd have to take a look at when you submitted the downgrade and when they were action. If you paid for the full month and only got a few days then we can credit you pro-rata.

Anyone else find the router think it's the Ac1200 or whatever has really poor Wi-Fi?

I mean some random Pace unit telkom gave me a couple years ago has a better Wi-Fi connection.

P. S. Yes they are on different channels.

Something I am missing here?

Country has been changed to S.A on the modem.

The "pure fiber" is Terrible! omg...iv been on a few providers, recently tried Afrihost and its by far the worst iv had. Just after signing up i was singing their praise...but was short lived. I mainly watch Twitch, which was perfect with Afrihost, however over the past week, its all beenCapture.JPG downhill. Now I cant even watch a 360 p stream without a constant buffer, completely unacceptable.

I don't want to be that person, because I am quick to moan when my line is performing as I pay for...but with all the loadshedding, I am going to take a stab in the dark that shizz will be effected in some way or another. I am sure that everyone will always fix things that are pointed out. We all at the mercy of Eskom atm. It's an extra factor to consider before we lose it and crap all over the isps

Hi Afriman,
The last week or so I can't stream at night because of terrible slow international speeds. I logged a call #VID-449-31941 but no success so far. It does not help to tell me to reset my ONT. As you can see local traffic OK but international not fine. Please tell me what must I do to sort this mess out? Can you help me perhaps?

Channel 1 and 2 overlap btw and you will have problems

Channel 1 6 and 11 are the best non overlapping options

Thanks. There is a Fibre link break or something, will try it out when I am connected someday

Did something just die?

Chatted to my warehouse manager around this. He says D-Link are encouraging people to raise these issues directly to them. They are very pro-active in terms of customer service. http://www.d-link.co.za/support/

They would be in the best position to address any issues, and then include potential fixes in the next firmware patch, etc.

I've applied for Pure Fibre and the installation is being done next week Tuesday. I have a router with a dedicated WAN port, but I am looking for a better one - one of the TP-Link Archer models to be exact. Is anyone here using a TP-Link Archer VR2800/900/600 with a fibre connection successfully? It doesn't seem to have a dedicated WAN port, but an EWAN port instead. I'm not sure if everything will work as expected by simply connecting one of these routers to the ONT?

Twitch can be an unreliable indicator. I find the app is generally a little better than the browser version, but sometimes it's horrible. On our side, we don't shape or throttle and we optimise as much as possible on our side.

It really depends on the provider, but most of them have put some power redundancy in place for load shedding. However, they do recommend adding a UPS to your ONT and router so you stay online, rather than lose power and try to authenticate (along with everyone else) when the lights come on. I do it at home on Vuma, never go offline and never have to wait to get back up.
