For anyone interested here is the direct link to the ship, can't help much but I kind of enjoy seeing these things.

hmm wonder why it's not left yet - sea conditions don't seem that bad in CPT

ATA was when it was moved to the dock it is currently in, almost like a planes pre flight inspection. Just ships take stupid long with all that stuff for obvious size reasons

ATD is actual time of departure which I see was around 19:52 which also like a plane means doors start closing and things start warming up for sail. Should see it move in an hour or so hopefully.

Twitch has taken a huge nose dive ever since the switch over.
Can't watch source for more than a 30 seconds before it tanks.

That's a fail for me too, didn't see that either. Well know you now the process when it does actually get updated to realish figures .

@AfriMan Huuuuuuuge improvement at home with our Fibre. Certainly not perfect but in comparison to the last few days, it’s like chalk and cheese.
I’m sure there was a considerable unplanned cost involved getting this sorted so many thanks!

I'm so glad everything is working well :)

If you see a slightly chubby man begging on the street corner, it's probably me after paying for this capacity.

Just kidding. Gian paid :)

Hi Guys, still seeing packet loss and routing through telkom. If I traceroute from a server in London it shows Seacom, Are you guys still working on te BGP routing?

The guys are still working on improving performance on Telkom. We're definitely not seeing the performance we'd like :(

Can you run a traceroute so we can see your routing right now?

Don't get me wrong, I realise there are much higher priorities than optimising latency at the moment and I'm grateful AH are working so hard to implement this solution. I was merely wondering, and may have phrased it a little aggressively :)

No offense taken - trust me! Nobody is happier than me that everything is sorted. I may actually turn my assignment in on time ;)

So i've been having issues since the switchover to Seacom, wondering if anybody else also has issues. After the cable break, local sites still used to work fine (like mybb).

Since sunday afternoon I even have issues with local sites. Slack does not update and shows everybody as offline. Mybb just loads and when it does eventually come up, the images do not load. Trying to load a pdf on weathersa doesnt work. Speedtest.net does not even load.

But somehow all the traceroutes and mtr's that I run show up fine. If I change my PPPoE account over to Cool Ideas, then everything works perfectly. I'm in the Knysna area on Openserve fibre.

That definitely sounds weird. Our team will definitely want to have some info to test and try to replicate this. Can you drop me a PM with your username? But also let's pick one service we can test. If you can send me a traceroute to that service so we can test it and give you feedback.
