Can people in Durban and CPT confirm a MTR or Trace to engage.cloudflareclient.com

That is the endpoint in Warp. From PTA and JHB it goes to NAP Africa JHB peering. KZN goes to Durban but CPT people going via JHB.

Warp and Warp Plus not working in CPT is a Cloudflare issue unfortunately. engage.cloudflareclient.com

So yeah it's a Cloudflare issue because CPT is going via JHB.

Anyone in a position to confirm with Cloudflare directly? Seems like too glaring an issue to be an oversight.

I've submitted two bug reports to cloudflare with no response back :/

How do you get support from afrihost? Phone lines closed, whatsapp support offline
I have downloaded the App--and submitted a ticket--this way you have a reference number; or ask them to call you back. Yes, after hours, it sux not having anyone to help. So I have relied on this Forum for support.

Angola Cables transit is live! Wonder how latency is to Brazil now....

Did that 2 days ago and still waiting

I tried testing it and i don't see any change yet in routing.

Edit: @cavedog

I see there is some asymmetric routing on some prefixes. e.g.

This is to fortaleza

Afrihost will be refunding this month correct ? I hope so. Else this issue might need to be taken up with the high courts.

Pretty much zero chance of that happening. I've never heard of an ISP refunding anyone due to service outages - almost guaranteed to be provisioned for in the terms of conditions of your service. Everything is 'best effort' or something to that effect.

Also, why do we need a refund? Local connectivity works fine, so spend $2 on a Windscribe account for the SA location with unlimited data and say goodbye to any international connectivity problems. Takes like 5 minutes to set up.

That sounds like too much trouble. Much easier going to court.

I dont really recall the last time an ISP was down for nearly a month, and not willing to pay the costs of getting temp routing going to resolve the issue, at least to the point every other ISP has.

Jeez, you should be a stand up comedian mate, truly.

Ive had my connection VPNed since the issue started. That is far from my point.

But keep being a weak minded consumer that lets companies walk all over you.

So you've been on a VPN since the issue started and experienced no downtime, but you think a court can be convinced that you have sufficient reason to sue for personal damages?

Also, how likely do you think it is that a court will not accept that Afrihost took reasonable measures to ensure international connectivity when a backup solution WAS provided for? The backup cable also suffered a break this month.

Maybe your initial post should have been whether Afrihost owes us all $2 to cover a Windscribe VPN for a month?

And how does me finding a workaround to my issue, take the company who faulted off the hook lol? It doesnt.

And every other ISP also had to face the same issues, they were simply willing to pony up the money, while Afrihost wasnt. There is a reason every other isp, and every major local CDN still have perfect connections, they willing to pay.

Anyway, no point in spamming this post with our nonsense. But it is hiliarous that 'fanboys' or whatever, seem to want to defend their ISP of choice, kinda weeeeiiirdddd.

Had you searched a bit you'd know that Afrihost has gone to pretty extreme measures to find alternative bandwidth as quickly as possible once they realised the extent of the issue. International bandwidth is usable for most customers.

Out of interest, what package do you have with Afrihost?
I've been on Pure Fibre since it launched, having an undersea cable (which isn't owned, run or maintained by Afrihost) is the first real issue I've had.

The real slowdowns were also only a few days. Was it annoying? Sure.
Did I make a plan to attempt to speed things up, that cost me extra money? Sure, tried a few VPNs, Cloudflare WARP etc.
Do I expect a credit? No.

Why no credit though? Because we're on home products that do not have a tied to SLA or agreement in place. If Afrihost went down for days, complete blackout or whatever it might be a different story.

If you want a refund for degraded speeds over a few days go and setup an SLA with an ISP, but be prepared to pay SLA-grade prices for your new fancy business connection. Otherwise it might be best to take a years worth of 99,99% uptime SLA, refundable business ISP, 1:1 contention fibre line product and take Afrihost "to the high court".

Clown.
