Who knows, logged a support request and will see what happens. Tested this morning with Steam, Origin and Blizzard and still getting 50% of the speeds I usually get. Tested a HTTP download and it was also the same.
is it not your router, try connecting straight to cpe?

Done all that, currently being assisted by a tech from Afrihost. Have to go through the whole "send us a speedtest", "plug directly into the ONT", etc. At least they were prompt with a response so kudos to them for that.

Very weird I doubt it's connection related though if speedtests shows full speed. What cable provider are you using?

Vumatel

It is very weird indeed. Everything looks great but when actually downloading stuff through Origin, Steam or Blizzard not getting what I used to get.

Tried a file download from Real-Debrid and that too is not what it used to be.

Feels almost like shaping which shouldn't be the case.

Okay damn was going to suggest trying another ISP if you were on Vumatel. What line speed do you have?

Currently have a 1Gbps link and it's been amazing except for the occasional hiccup like this one. That's what I miss about ADSL, want to check if your ISP is a problem, just put in a different username and password and test.

This feels almost like shaping which shouldn't be the case.

Yeah but even if shaping was the suspect demand is very low now so that won't be it.

Ask support to release the mac address to have a new ip allocated. Restart cpe and router and check. It could be ip related but shouldn't be.

Thanks dude, appreciate the advice. Will ask support to try that when they get back to me.

@cavedog Are you still able to connect simultaneous accounts on your line? Iv got the cpe plugged into a router lan port and then a cable going from another router lan port to its wan port, however only the router is able to dial out. I cant see the pppoe concentrator from any other devices on lan for some reason.

Afrihost pure fibre gigabit account vs Rain 5g... quite astonished and how poorly the Afrihost product performs compared to Rain 5g...

Games downloads are being throttled....

It's probably the router. If you use a cheap 1Gbps switch it will work. The other router is probably forcing it's own DHCP ip address either causing an IP Conflict or it's fire walled somehow.

The Best solution if you want to dial multiple pppoe session is to a 1Gbps switch. ONT LAN1 > Switch. Then connect all your devices to the switch which will be dialing their own accounts. Would have been so nice if Openserve left the ONT lan ports all active then you would not have needed a switch but yeah it is what it is.

You did rule out Packe Loss on the line right

Its strange because it used to work, i had it setup like that for months. Perhaps the CPE needs a restart or something. I agree that the best solution is to have an additional switch to keep the openserve cpe subnet separate from the lan itself.

Let me know. It's been a while since I dialed more than one account at the same time since Afrihost has been pretty good so I took the switch out to use somewhere else.

Anyone else experiencing some down time in the Westrand? Afrihost / Vuma.
