We are aware that speeds are still degraded and we are still working on the issue.

Hi,

I have an interesting scenario. I ordered my fibre and PAID for it the 13th of December.. the 14th of December they told me the address already has an ISP, we explained that we live in the garden cottage at the back of the house. They asked us for a contract and we sent the lease contract that same day. One month later we followed up and again they said there is already an isp on the property and again we explained the scenario. We were told afrihost will contact us, a week later we called them and again the same problem, this time they changed the address to 14a to show it was a garden cottage. Afrihost then told us we won't move to the bottom of the waiting list and can expect our installation in the week of the 18th to 22nd of January. Yesterday we did a follow up on the whatsapp support number and he told us he can't give us an estimated time. Today i called afrihost support number after the help line answered he told me he was going to check the spreadsheet and left me on hold for 40min.. i called in again and the next person who answered said our address is still being changed and hasn't even been created yet. She said she will talk to her supervisor and call me back. I still haven't heard anything back.. this is the 4th time afrihost promised to contact me that they left me hanging.. all i want to know is can afrihost assist me with internet and how much longer will i have to wait for the installation, because it appears that they keep moving us to the bottom of the waiting list and keep on giving us the same excuse.

Thank you in advance for any clarification in regards to our problem

Hi,

I apologise for the delay and inconvenience you are experiencing.

This sounds like Vumatel or Vuma Reach right?

Vuma Reach has limited fibre strands available and if there is no capacity requests for a second line gets rejected.

I would like to follow up on this for you and get you some feedback. Can you send me your clientzone email via pm for me to look into the matter for you?

@AfriNatic wen eta

We have noted the changes.

These changes significantly reduces the wholesale charges but also instantly increases the cost of IPC and average data consumption of the entry level service where suddenly everyone on a 10Mbps can stream 4K.

Our Ops manager and teams will look at this and make the changes if any. We will definitely pass on any savings to out clients if feasible.

Why is fibre not like ADSL? The best thing about ADSL was you could open a PPOE connection using another ISP when your ISP had problems :(

At this point we need reassurances that it won't happen tomorrow night again like clock work...

I understand the frustration. We definitely see an issue.

I would like to have a client on Octotel or Frogfoot that is having issues. It seems like a resource issue with the clients that have natted IP addresses.
