We are seeing traffic levels return to normal now. Please let us know if you are still experiencing downtime.

@AfriNatic Quick question.. .if a telephone pole carrying the Openserve fibre box has fallen over, who gets contacted... ISP or Openserve ? Btw, fibre line didn't break (yet) .. the pole is probably leaning on something else

Openserve does not deal with the public directly. You would need to contact the ISP. Our options are limited also and can report faults on active services.
Thought so... that was my advice to them as well... contact the ISP and log a fault

Yeap I was wondering the same thing cause our aerial fibre box are also just hanging from the pole, since about Xmas - the thick backhaul line keeping it from breaking off completely I guess. Was thinking of reporting it but from what I read, it doesn't count as a fault unless service go down.

Indeed. If we log it without the line actually be down then Openserve clears the fault without even dispatching anyone. Once the line goes down it's a fault and they will repair the line and fix whatever caused the outage. Unfortunately that is how they operate when it comes to faults.

Area went live on frogfoot network on 15 December, ordered Afrihost Fibre on 17 December, received router 3 days later but still waiting for installation... Please HELP!

I'm in the same area. Frogfoot accepted my order on January 11 and I was contacted 10 days later by FH Civils to confirm if they could perform the installation on Monday this week. Everything was installed on Monday and the contractors did a fantastic job of not wrecking my front garden, but alas I have not been activated yet because there is some problem that Frogfoot needs to resolve. :crying:

When the FH Civils contractors tested my connection to the main line they were getting a high reading which they said requires resplicing somewhere. All I know now is that they said they would try get resolved today and I hope and pray they keep their promise.

Hi,

I can try to get more info for you from Frogfoot if you don't get sorted.

Uptime is less reliable than ADSL for me on Afrihost/Vumatel, it's down as we speak, hours every day, can't ping google from ONT dashboard, yet all lights are on and 1st line saying it's shap.

Pretty grim situation to be honest.

Vumatel/Afrihost ticket: ISP-280778, I think their third line guys only work on Wednesdays though, must be budget cuts or something....

Pure fibre was activated 2nd part of Jan;
I applied the 14th, Installation was from 16 to 21 Jan. Discount applied to end of Jan. Shortly after that saw that the discounts/speed upgrades were extended to 31 March.
Do I get the discount/speed upgrade for Jan only?

Morning @AfriNatic

Could you please help? Connection down after the downgrade to my normal speeds after the double speed promo.

Same thing happened when we did the upgrade and some change needed to be made on the system.

FNO = Frogfoot
