Thanks so much for the update. Appreciate it.
Thanks.
Please note the outage is still ongoing.
A major node has gone done taking some surrounding nodes with it.
Techs are still attending to the fault.

Hi @AfriNatic, can you check ref # ISP-462869? The line has been down for 72 hours. This is from Vumatel FNO.

Dealing with Vumatel and Afrihost is a very frustrating experience!
My line has been down since yesterday evening...initially speed issues. Then line stops working.
My latest ISP no, is 464002....supposed to be an escalation to NOC team. Feedback was promised, but none received.
Are you able to assist?
@AfriNatic whats the status of the international issues (https://www.afrihost.com/site/network_status/#fibre-broadband)?
not international per se. i've noticed apps like tapatalk and takealot taking *really* long to load on my phone though speed tests are fine. my wife asked me twice today if the internet was down when she was using her phone. It's been resolved.
The notice is still up due to various capacity upgrades that will be taking place.
Are you experiencing any issues?
Thanks so much! I really appreciate the quick response.I have logged another ticket asking them to send maintenance ISP-464097

speedtests are just fine and web browsing is just fine. im just using the *wait and see if it resolves itself* approach at the moment.
i've got a full amplifi mesh system setup and it happens when im only a few meters away while the chromecast in the same room streams hulu perfectly. not maxing out the line either.
No ipv6 is at my parents place I just play around with it remotely on a pi I have plugged into their DIR-825.I know you have IPv6 enabled right?
Might sure that IPv6 is enabled in the mesh system. Tapatalk and takealot uses cloudflare which prefers IPv6. The delay you might be noticing is IPv6 failing back to IPv4.

I'm on Openserve at home.
nope i use strongdns to watch offshore content .. so i'll deal with the lag for now im sure it'll come right.Using default DNS servers?
Tried using Quad9 or Cloudflare DNS to see if that makes any difference?
Hey guys anyone else in the Westville, Durban area that is down? ONT says fibre is connected, but router not connecting. Seems our entire road is down, so it might be openserve.
Won't lie, worse timing. Was knee deep in an Escape From Tarkov fight. Oh well, hope they can resolve it in record time. There is fault on the main Openserve backhaul in Westville at the moment.
I mean, I wouldn't mind clocking some overtime pay for a fault this big, but I wouldn't expect a miracle, probably a few hours to repair unless something (or somebody) really messed up.Won't lie, worse timing. Can I get you some coffee, maybe a muffin or some biscuits xDI mean, I wouldn't mind clocking some overtime pay for a fault this big, but I wouldn't expect a miracle, probably a few hours to repair unless something (or somebody) really messed up.
It's not like somebody ran over the exchange/pon (again)
