Afrihost - Pure Fibre Feedback Thread

@AfriNatic all these insane issues with low speeds is that also because afrihost bought cool ideas and the pool got bigger? So congestion is even worse then before?.

Not related at all as we continue to function as separate entities and our networks are not combined.

These issues are isolated netowkr faults/issues on different networks in different areas and we deal with them on a case by case basis.

@AfriNatic that is the same answer I have been given since friday, no one seems to or want to be able to get a straight answer from ttconnect.... I have just replied to the ticket on the clientzone, just thought maybe you could escalate to someone who knows what they are doing there but it appears you will just give the same answer as they do... TTconnect did a physical assessment on the 7th but yet here am not "on the system" still to today...

Hi,

I have replied to your ticket id with feedback from TT Connect.

I see that you are considering to move to Vox due to the delays. Since these delays are relating to installation it's unlikely that Vox would be able to assist faster.

@AfriNatic after a day or two of stable connections, the packet loss/time outs are back again.

Can someone please investigate if this is a Frogfoot issue or should we consider switching to another FNO - Century City Connect?

Connection via a LAN cable and after a 15min off/restart.

FrogFoot IPcore team has made changes as they have seen the losses before but the feedback from that ticket was the issue is resolved.

Let me escalate to them again.

@AfriNatic seems the issue is acknowledged on the Afrihost site. Is there an ETA on this? I'm working from home and cant get any work done

Fiber was working fine but completely died 30 mins ago. Chatted with someone via Whatsapp and they said it's related to the below

I see that was posted last night. Any idea if it's related? Spoke with a mate who also has fiber with Afrihost and he says he's had no issues.

Hi,

thanks for the feedback:
"Please note that this order was received on 14.06.2021. The client only moved in on 30.06.2021 and survey was done on 07.07.2021.
We are having a back log on orders and with the riots, installation bookings was placed on hold. Installations will only start again from tomorrow.
As soon as we can, client will be contacted to arrange for installation."

- how long do you think I should wait without any further calls or updates for before I kick up a fuss again, 1 week, 2 weeks? Id hope that as the responsible ISP you guys would put pressure onto ttconnect but it seems you are at their mercy too?

Even the company I work for has re-opened up the branch in pinetown so the riot excuse can only be relevant for so long in the next week or 2. This installation is in the east rand of JHB not the middle of kzn... I personally do not believe in "African" time that this is taking to get done.

And please dont speak up for vox you dont work for them :)

I seem to have an issue where a lot of sites that i am accessing that use CloudFlare are popping up a Captcha screen every time before i can get to the site?
This only started recently - within the last 2 weeks
I don't have malware or anything like that.
I have checked this site as well

@AfriNatic could this be ISP related with my IP?

Hi,

This might be because of a shared IP.

Can you send me a pm with your email address again so I can have a look.

Which fibre network operator is this? There was a brief outage on Vuma Reach but it has since been resolved.

I'm going to ask for feedback again or an ETA for you. Apologies for the delay. We definitely want to get you online asap.

I have logged the fault again for you.

Once I have feedback I will revert back with the feedback.

Question again, is it worth migrating to Century City Connect for better service/uptime ?
