I try to keep my setup clean and tidy, like my foreskin.I do hope this is the issue and not something else. Sent you an image of the ONT. Is this the older type? Heard certain ONT models had issues.View attachment 1216534

@AfriNatic is frogfoot down again in Richard's bay?
Looks good. The picture I presented was that of old. I was in the process of renovating at the time.
Not seeing any notices. You lost connection?
Just had a look, you not alone. Richards bay has now gone to Facebook complaining and taking Frogfoot to task....Yup absolutely no connection at all. Plugged my laptop directly to the ONT. Cant even open speedtest.net

This is definitely more than 3 hours :/Impact Description: 3 hours downtime
Maintenance Date and Time: 2021-12-22 20:00:00.0 to 2021-12-23 07:30:00.0
Mine changed too since I jammed a fly lead into my routers 4th port for a temporary tiny PC I paid R280 for running Debian. So a second green LAN cable running to the other side of the room. I should get a 8 port gigabit switch some time to replace the 5 port.Looks good. The picture I presented was that of old. I was in the process of renovating at the time.
Anyone else have problems on their phones , where any app which needs location does not work over Wifi on Afrihost Fibre?
On checkers sixty60 just now, the app stays on the load screen, but the moment I switch my wifi off, it works. Been doing this for about a week. The same with my weather apps.
Octotel. This is an odd issue and haven't noticed any complaints about something similar.
What fibre provider do you have?
Octotel.
Edit: I've had the problem before and it seemed to have resolved on its own, but it returned last week.
Random question, not Afrihost related really, but what is the difference between the small white box on the wall where Fibre goes in and out, and the Huawei Eco thingy (Speaking about openserve)
ThanksThe Termination point on the wall is basically just where the fibre comes in and gets spliced to a pigtail similar to that telephone termination point where you plug the cord in.
The Huawei ONT is the actual device that does the magic and that is why it's powered.
The inside of the Termination point looks something similar to this. Multiple fibre strands usually 2 or 4. Only 1 strand is used for the line which leaves 3 spare should additional lines be required. This termination point can essentially take 4 lines. With Openserve and Frogfoot they have decided to rather use provisioning and different vlans to make each LAN port a line on it's own while just using a since strand.
That probably means that a single fibre cable with 4 strands can have 16 fibre lines/services.
