Ive been trying to get the PR guy here to look into Vuma Gauteng since sunday night last week. Ive been taken in circles trying to determine if its my line(it isnt, it never is, the chance your issue is related to your line, is below 1%, so god only knows why they insist so hard it is).
Now the weekend has arrived, tons of clients are now starting to use their connections, and now the issues that have been present all week are getting hammered and even more issues will arise.
But hey, finally the right people have been informed of the issue it seems, so hopefully they get it sorted.

Any word on Rivonia? Thought me living a walking distance away from the Afrihost Headquarters I’d be safe from such outages

@AfriNatic I see the YouTube and international connectivity message is still up as an active issue. I personally have no issues at all (not using ipv6 either) but as a matter of interest what are the plans to resolve this, more capacity across where? Any ETA on it?

The Youtube issue is still ongoing and Google advised some more changes are to be made this coming week.
With regards to international the upgrades have still not been completed at LINX as expected and communicated. We have sourced more capacity but it's proving complicated to implement without breaking low latency routes from KZN and CPT to EU.
We have made some adjustments tonight to see if we can improve the overall performance so apologies if it breaks something tonight.

The speedtest seems to indicate MTN Business as the ISP. Are you connected to the fibre line currently?
I haven't noticed any YouTube issues at any point. Was this supposed to be affecting all Afrihost users?
Not all clients. Just Northern region if the traffic terminates in JHB.
We have on network caches for the other regions like KZN and Western, Eastern Cape.

What does a speedtest over Ethernet look like in comparison to that speedtest over wifi?

No issues with my 500Mbps Openserve fibre here in PE.
Over the years, I've been more and more impressed with Openserve. They're slow and steady but I think their network is pretty rock-solid these days.
