Trying to download LibreELEC distro and its coming down at 5KB/s.
Rebooted my router and speeds went back to normal, then after 5 min dropped back down to pathetic speeds.

Hi,

I see a major dip in traffic from 19:30 to 19:38.

We have logged it with the vendor to investigate what caused the issue.

Apologies for the issues.

@AfriNatic I am getting reports of a Seacom break between Egypt and Europe as of this morning.

Is this affecting Afrihost services too?

We do not use Seacom transit so we are not affected.

Some providers in SA do like Cloudflare and possibly Microsoft and there is some resports of issues on their network. We hand traffic over to these at Nap in JHB,CPT and DUR. If they are experiencing issues they need to pull their announcements in ZA and will carry the traffic to EU on our links.

Have to switch to LTE for Twitter images to load on 100/100 Vuma Trenched. Second night in a row. What's going on?

Experiencing same. Vuma aerial 1000/200
I'm sure they are looking into it, latest feedback from @AfriNatic.

"We have an open ticket with the vendor because the Noc manager says the international links aren't performing as they should be."

Plex behaving erratically as well. Lot's of buffering. Library is cloud based (Gsuite)...

Could be IPv4 related because I am unable to reproduce the issue on Ipv6.

Can you please see if you can capture the IPv4 ip if you view a picture or video on twitter and do a trace route to that IP address to see if there is any loss?

Can some one from Afrihost advise if anything has changed. Since yesterday around 5PM most of my international streaming service buffer every 1 minute. This had never been an issue up until yesterday. what is wiered is Speed tests and traceroutes all give the correct results.
@AfriNatic come on its is day 3 day. there is clearly something wrong. buffering is still not resolved. i have spoken to my vpn provider etc and they confirm all is good on their side. do you have enough capacity. i have ask if we can trouble shoot further with no response from you or afrihost. and yes i have tried both ip4 and ip v6

Hi,

I'm not seeing any issues. Our traffic levels are normal and we are using just more than half of the available capacity. There are a lot of capacity free currently.

Can you please do a trace route to the VPN server you are using to see what the latency is like and if there is any loss?

I tried running an MTR to the server for a bit and see loss from the server itself. Do you have other server options to test with?
