Yeah me too... they said we can enter our pppoe details already, so i did... now im internet-less... but according to the AH portal im up and running, but i have no active sessions...

Got a shiny sms and invoice... but nada

Also can't connect now to CISP either...

If i get connected i hope i can submit my invoice for a refund for this month that i now paid with Cisp

Sounds like your line is dead. I hope you requested a migration from CISP and not a line cancellation.

I told them to move the B number to afrihost and then on afrihost side I did the migration so only on the 31st August my B number will be released

Well i requested a release... not to kill it

The whatsapp folk at AH now says they dont have my line? So how the hell can it be activated at AH..

What a mess... just what i was afraid of...

@AfriFella- please help here

Maybe contact cisp and just check that they did in fact release and not cancel the line

Apparently there is an Openserve Outage according to CISP, that's why I can't connect back to them...but the fact that the AH support person told me they don't have my line doesn't sound promising

My line’s down. Openserve in PE. Was sent this by AH WhatsApp support :

${outageApi.getAffectedServices()} services in the Openserve ADSL/FTTH: Data transfer issues in Elizabeth / East London area may be inaccessible due to an outage. Logged on : 14-Aug 17:17

So basically what happens is once you enter the pppoe details it triggers the account activation but the line is not with Afrihost yet. The B number will get released to the holding pool as per CISP cancellation date. The line can be in the holding pool for up to 7 days for Afrihost to migrate it from the holding pool and if they don't then the line gets suspended. Since you triggered an activation which is actually a bug in clientzone IMO you just need to remember to log a ticket end of the month with your B number to make sire it gets migrated because I think once the account is active like it is now the API might fail to migrate and they would need to do a manual migration order which is manual but automatically once placed if that makes sense.

Your free month starts now btw.

Same happened to me but even Friday night when the manual order was placed took a few hours then it was migrated so my advice. MAKE sure Afrihost places a migration order on the 1st of the month.

If i knew month one started now i would not have entered it....I'm now losing out on a month.... @AfriFella... now what?

Thaba for explaining Cavedog... boggles my mind that AH don't explain it like this...

Joh... I dunno sometimes hey.

Yeah it's a bug in the clientzone in my option especially with Openserve which uses pppoe. Once you use those pppoe details it tricks the system in thinking the line is active and triggers activation even if the line is not migrated yet. So basically what is supposed to happen is CISP will move your line to the holding pool and then once Afrihost migrates that line from the holding pool the activation happens and you get an SMS to say account is active.

Entering the details activates the account pre maturely and for me the API failed to migrate the line so a manual migration order to Openserve is the required once your line is in the holding pool.

How strange. My Openserve fibre is fine in Walmer, PE and has been all day.

I restarted my ONT and router... mine was also fine up until I was told i could enter my pppoe details for AH..

Things rapidly deteriorated from there....

So don't reboot anything in case

Looks like my connection came back on within the last hour or so. Connected to CISP though.

@AfriFella - I want my month of August back please, meaning it should not count as month 1 because like Cavedog explained, even though I'm activated now, i can't use the service until my line is released at the end of the month, so your system has incorrectly activated my account.

Thanks

I can't connect anywhere now, not even CISP..

aaaaaaaaaahhh, I'm a STORMERSFAN 2.0......

hahahahhahaha
I am so sorry that you were disconnected. It seems that the password you have entered was rejected by our system. I have also replied to your PM.
