I actually noticed my Openserve latency has reduced @S.Claus ? You are from PTA too right my latency on Openserve has dropped from the usual 5ms to 3ms.... No hardware or any changed on my side. Openserve is always been like 5ms or maybe 4ms but now it's 3ms.

Just tested mine still hovers around 4ms-6ms. I noticed that you get all the cool toys these days with multiple fibre providers and Rain 5G.

Yeah I got a bunch to play with. 200Mbps fibre, Rain 5G, MTN fixed lte, Telkom uncapped lte-a .

Pretty much tested everyone and everything.

Still really keen to try out 1Gbps 1Gbps symmetrical Frogfoot on Afrihost.

Frogfoot is a mess currently with multiple people complaining about disconnects. I personally wouldn't mind Vumatel expanding into Pretoria.

The 1Gbps does seem really tempting, but the price is really high compared to getting 200mbps which, I think is good enough.

Thanks for all your help though cavedog appreciate it

Something definitely changed for me because it was never 3ms on Openserve ever since I got the line. Something changed on Openserve side for me.

Using news.eweka.nl from Eweka, thing is minute I go warp it stops the slowdown...

Interesting because it maxes my line speed on free-usenet EU server.

Also you can add news.afrihost.co.za with 10 connections. Speed is capped at 2MB/s but still pretty decent as an added server :)

I am also having high latency in WoW use to be around 175ms+ now it is over 240ms all the time.

yeah, ping to EU is kuk - 250ms, noticed it yesterday, just checked now, still 250ms instead of the usual less kuk but still kuk 190ms, compared to other isp's 170ms.
