Afrihost reduces uncapped ADSL prices

They had no choice. Had to bring it in line with other ISPs.

I have been awestruck by MWEB's connection quality, World of Warcraft produces a ROCK SOLID 200ms latency. It's incredible, I will never move.

R200 for uncapped 1Mb...

lolwhut... a couple of years ago we would pay more than R200 for 5Gb's... :D

I pay R145 for 10Gb's - might be worth it to cancel that and pay R200 for unlimited... Just R55 more...

*ponder*

Might look at that in three months' time. Want to see what other people's experiences is like before doing a commit.

How many other ISPs do you know that are offering 4Mbps uncapped for under R400?

Afrihost FTW!!!
384 and 1024 are about the same price as Mweb and WA.

But I agree the 4Mbps is a great deal. A lot less than the others. (R539 MWeb, 599WA).
So the question is what does Afrihost consider as abuse and when do they throttle.

Axxess R496
Mweb is R539
Openweb R539
WebAfrica R599

At R397 they're far below the other ISP's... but personally I'll wait to see if "improved quality of the product" is true.

Wonder if mweb will still play the "Our 4mb uncapped prices are already competitively priced" card, or will they play ball?

As said the 10Gb users is already paying R145 a month.

For R55 more they can get 1Mb unshaped. Not too bad. I'm seriously tempted.

If MWEB don't come to the party soon, I will switch to Afrihost 4mbps, and save about R150 per month. I only download between 50 and 100 GB per month, and I've heard that the service has improved drastically over the last 2 weeks.

Well done Afrihost, Gian and team. You're my favourite ISP for capped data. I hope you will become my favourite for uncapped too. I'd love to spend my money with you instead.

I am tempted to do the same, as I dont do more than 150gb(sometimes just below 200gb) per month...
When you move over please do inform the rest of us of the quality and/or shaping.

R397 for 4mb uncapped is pretty sweet. All depends on how the product performs though. Performance for me takes president over price. Cheapest in the market now?

Hey everyone

We are excited about our new home uncapped products. They are far superior to our offering we originally launched 2 years ago. Come and try it out and if you don't like it you can always get your money back!

cheers

Gian

The reason Afrihost have taken a while to announce this, the company said, is that they decided to ensure that they improved both the quality of the product and the price. “This means you will now pay less than ever before for an uncapped ADSL solution, while receiving a far superior service as well,” said Afrihost director Greg Payne.

Very exciting....

its the hassle of cancelling with your current provider, waiting 30 days, switching to afrihost, getting throttled after 70gb, re applying at old provider, waiting 30 days switching back...

Been through the exercise before... once bitten, twice shy
