Afrihost reduces uncapped ADSL prices

Nice prices but I've been through enough IS based "uncapped" accounts to know they are all pretty B grade at best when compared to the quality/latency of MWEB and WA.. and since WA have gone to hell recently, MWEB seems tops - I'd rather pay a bit more than have a second rate connection

Really hoping MWEB responds at the 4MB uncapped level, otherwise I may have to move or drop down speed.

Same. But I'm on Openweb GOLD :D

You say this without knowing the quality of Afrihost's uncapped service.

Uncapped accounts are cheap enough. We need better performance.

Why settle Qwikslver? We need cheaper prices with better performance! R500 for a middle level account seems a bit much when one still has to pay R413 and R140... Telkom wont be lowering their prices any time soon imo, so the only things we can save on is the line rental (naked adsl) and bandwidth...

Having an account that offers acceptable levels of performance is a bigger priority. What's the point of getting something cheap if it's crap?

What I'm saying is why settle for only one of the above two options? I don't think that it is unreasonable 2 years down the line to expect to get both.

Well in my honest opinion, I have been receiving excellent value for money. I have been getting really good through-put over the last week and no reduction in speed to date.

Well done Afrihost!!!

I was merely jumping on the general view of how some users who are hesitant to jump feel ;-). I got Afrihost's free 1GB account and am very happy with it however one can never be too certain with a product that falls into a more "heavy usage" type category wrt speed and performance.

I will however wait it out before jumping (read upgrading) to them on this one :p.

what about capped customers?

Afrihost increased the number of GBs to capped customers effective from 01st May 2012.

PS. I got an extra 5GB for the unchanged price :)

Afrihostt of you want me to consider using you create 6meg uncapped account that's actually half decent.

Nice to see a ISP benefiting consumer with the IPC cuts.

Good bye Mweb and goodbye Derek, you and your creative crappy pricing model have -1. Lets see how soon you guys give some relief for 4mb accounts now. I'm guessing not long.

I'm tempted now as well. Less than I pay for 50gb at WA...

Is there a trial account option?

Wonder if mweb will still play the "Our 4mb uncapped prices are already competitively priced" card, or will they play ball?

They will have a change of opinion and it will be like it was always in the cards, which is hilarious. Well spotted

I might go for their 4 meg account if we get comments on their "improved perfomance"

Hey everyone

We are excited about our new home uncapped products. They are far superior to our offering we originally launched 2 years ago. Come and try it out and if you don't like it you can always get your money back!

cheers

Gian

You always put a smile on my face. Those are fantastic prices and the "cheapest 4MB uncapped in SA". Well done again, to all at Afrihost! :D

Jeeez do you guys forget quickly, remember what happened with their uncapped offering?
No thank I would rather pay more @ mweb and not have to be kicked off for "abuse" or have degraded service
