AfriGuy please respond to the ticket: [#CKB-348-68796]

On May 10, 2018, 9:12 AM you mailed me:

Morning My_Name,

I trust you are well.

The Virtual Environment that your server currently resides on is scheduled to be shut down and decommissioned within
the next few months.

Today is May 30, 2018, and we are no longer able to access that server.

I'm more interested in the reason for the decommission :o

Why do you still use this ISP?

An fatal internal CloudBroker error has occurred. Please contact support and have them escalate this issue to development.

Well technically the server was shut down within the next 2 months. Would have been nice to give you advanced notice of the actual day before they did though.

Well, the whole point of a virtual server is to be hardware agnostic. Hell, I recall in 2008, we were able to shift vm's while running to different hosts and the ability was a software license restriction vs a technical one. Bad show if a clients vm was shutdown for a long period of time. Would expect either a seamless move as above OR at worst, an agreed downtime while the VM was moved to another host.

What a let down of a thread...

No idea if Afrihost is cancelling him as a client and thus deactivated his service or if there is some technical issue. Thor is not being specific just posted in here to get the attention of the reps. I would love to know the story here. Doubt it will ever come out...

Wow, this company really has gone down.

Indeed they have.
Paperwork Fairy Land and all the things that go with it such as delusions of grandeur, in action.
Bottom line- if you do business with AH you're a bloody fool.
